Dutchess #24059 is a brown and black female Retreiver/Collie mix. She is approximately 4 months old. She has not been spayed. She was surrendered by the owner on 7/26/26; hold expired. Owner advised she does well with children. Owner stated she is good with other dogs. Owner advised that she is good with cats. Owner stated that she was kept as an outdoor pet. Meds: distemper/parvo, bordetella/parainfluenza, pyrantal deworm. At just 4 months old, Dutchess is a beautiful Retriever Mix with soulful brown eyes that seem to tell a story all on their own. This adorable girl came to our shelter as an owner surrender, and while the changes have been a little overwhelming, her gentle spirit continues to shine through. Dutchess is a shy girl but no doubt will truly blossom in a where she can learn that the world is a safe and loving place. She already has so many wonderful qualities—she does well with children, enjoys the company of other dogs, and even gets along well with cats, making her a lovely addition to many different families. Having been accustomed to an outdoor lifestyle, she'll appreciate a family ready to help her discover the comforts of home while continuing to enjoy time outside. I adopted Izzy in October of 2023 from a shelter in Statesboro, GA after finding her on Pet Finder. I wanted a dog to love on and for my grands to love on when they come stay with us. Izzy is a very energetic, loveable friend to all! She doesn’t have an aggressive bone in her body. She loves attention and truly loves kids! She will be 5 years old on 9/6. I have sinus related allergies and my grandson, we have found has pet allergies. He does struggle when he is visiting which is often. Izzy really needs a home with kids or another dog that can play with her and get some of her abundance of energy out. As I said, she is very loving and loves to give kisses!! She does shed but I would say she is a medium shedder. The one thing about Izzy that requires attention is that she is very afraid of fireworks and bad thunderstorms. She has medication for it but doesn’t have to have it if her owner is at home with her during those times. She was rescued and exposed to the elements.
