Story
Mostly Fast came to us from a home who could not keep him by due to some behavior issues they could not resolve. We have not been able to duplicate any resource guarding. This is a nice, friendly boy who is good with people and other dogs. His  birth date is 05/28/20 and he currently weighs 81#.  He probably needs to lose about 10#. He is very sweet guy who needs a little confidence with new people. He has a lot of energy and needs a home that will have time to exercise him. He likes to play! This boy will not go with children and needs a structured routine with feeding and exercise. He knows sit & down.  He has been vet. checked, neutered on 08/21/21, micro chipped, is up to date on routine shots & wormings including  rabies, and has been treated with flea & heart worm preventative per our protocol. He also tested heart worm negative. Prior to being relinquished to us, he was diagnosed with bilateral hip dysplasia and had a triple pelvic osteotomy to correct that on 02/15/21. Our vet. Has examined him and finds the surgery has held up and he is doing great.  His adoption donation is $500 and needs to be cash, certified check, money order or a debit/credit card. There is a 3% processing fee when using a debit/credit card. We do not ship or transport. Please email for an application if  you would like to provide this nice kid with his forever home. ##1222691##

Story
Petal Peggy came to us from a breeder where she was relinquished by no fault of her own. It was simply time for her to retire. This is a nice girl who is good with other dogs & with people. She is very sweet but would benefit from some basic obedience and confidence building. Her birth date is 10/27/18 and she currently weighs 42.6#. Photos were taken after spay surgery & she is still very sleepy. She will be groomed before adoptions & require grooming for life.  She has been vet. checked, spayed,  micro chipped, is up to date on routine shots & wormings including rabies, and has been treated with flea & heart worm preventative per our protocol. She was heart worm negative. Her adoption donation is $350 and needs to be cash, certified check, money order or a debit/credit card. There is a 3% processing fee when using a debit/credit card. Please note that any additional funding collected for this pet goes back into our medical acct. to provide for other dogs in need. We do not ship or transport. Please email for an application if you would like to provide this nice kid with her forever home. ##1825510##

Story
Meet Millie a Golden Retriever we rescued from a puppy mill. Please read her description thoroughly before putting in an application. Millie was born Sept 25, 2022. She weighs 50 lbs.. She is a gentle, sweet and loveable soul. Millie is in a foster home. She has gone from being terrified of people to loving everyone here. She will dance around for treats, and play with other dogs all day. However, you will not see the happy side of Millie for a few weeks. She will revert to being afraid and sometimes terrified in new surroundings and with new people. The trusting process will start all over again.  She needs a special home. She will cower down when someone approaches her.  She will lay in a corner with her head down at first. She will not come to you. She will need to adjust on her own time   She is very treat motivated, although the first few weeks she would not take any treats from us. She was too scared. She does not walk on a leash, she will lay down. Once she trusts you, she will walk a bit on a leash, however she still has a long way to go. You may have to carry her outside for a while. She gets along great with other dogs She needs another friendly, submissive, younger, easy going dog in the home to teach her how to be a dog, this is a must  Your dog must have a good vet record with a history of being on heartworm prevention.  She needs an adult in the family who is home more, no young children under 10 years of age, although she loves all people and kids she is skittish.   She sleeps in a crate in the bedroom at night. She sleeps through the night, without a peep as long as the crate is in the bedroom. If we put the crate in another room, she will bark for a while.   She also has a crate in the family room which is her safe place when the door is open. She will spend much of her time in the crate at first, until she feels safe enough to come out.  Millie will take a lot of time and patience for her to come around. She needs a special home. Thankfully treats are the way to her heart, but not at first.  She is going through her puppy stage now that she is comfortable in her foster home. She will get into things, and needs to be watched for chewing things like pillows.and indoor plants.  She is housetrained , however the foster home does have a pet door so she goes outside as she pleases. Applicants must be within a 1 hour distance from Grovertown, Indiana 46531. 2 meet and greets will be required. First you must come and meet Millie here, the 2nd meet and greet we will bring her to your home. If the 2nd meet and greet goes well she will stay with you for a 10 day trial adoption.  Millie is spayed, up to date on vaccines and is microchipped. She is a sweet, gentle unsocialized girl that came from a bad puppy mill and needs a lot of patience before she will trust you. Please watch her video and put in an application on our website. Meet and greets are by appointment only and your application must be approved before we can schedule any appointment to meet her. We are looking for the right home,  Only apply if you are serious and meet our adoption criteria. You must work out of your home or be retired. She can not be crated for long periods of time.  You must have a secure fenced in yard, and another confident and happy dog to show Millie how to be a dog.  Apply at https://indianasaveadog.com/adopt-available-dogs-1 ##1804545##
