Story
Not looking to make money. I want them to have a sweet, kind, loving home. Gus is 6 years old and was brought home to us as puppy from a local breeder. He is energetic but also very loyal and loving. He wants all of the attention in the world. He loves to play ball, go to dog parks and take walks. He gets excited easily when I get home or new people come over, but eventually settles down. We are looking to keep him with our other dog, Dane, a boxer. Our boxer is attached to him now after almost 4 years and they are best buds whether Gus likes it or not. :) They are both crate trained. Dane does not like it if Gus gets to go somewhere without him and that is the only time he gets nervous in the cage. Gus has done well being left at home and not in the crate. I have not tried it often with Dane as he likes to get into things, but he might do okay. They are house trained. They love to play with each other, so a nice fenced in back yard would be a great asset for them.

Story
We are looking to find a new home for our sweet 5-year-old dog. He is a Golden Retriever / Cocker Spaniel mix (AKA "Sport Retriever"). Coloring is all black with a white tuft on his chest. He is a very sweet, cuddly dog who is house-trained, crate-trained, and gets along well with other dogs. The reason we are rehoming him is that he gets nervous around our young children. He has never shown aggression, but he is skittish and anxious around toddlers. With adults or children over around age 7, he is extremely comfortable and loves pets and cuddling. We don't think his quality of life in our household is as good as it could be elsewhere. He loves being around people and does struggle with being left alone for long periods, so he would do best with someone who is home during the day, or at the very least not away for extended time. We aren't asking for an adoption fee; we just want to find him a home where he can be comfortable and happy. Please message me if you are interested.

Story
Meet Chance! He`s an incredibly handsome, loving mature Golden Retriever. When he came to Misty Eyes, Chance was quite overweight at 160 lb. and had several medical issues. With medical treatment, a strict diet and mild exercise, Chance has lost 50 lb.! He has been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and is on medication for that, along with medication for arthritis pain. He is prone to ear infections, so requires regular ear maintenance. He must remain on a regulated diet with 6-month checkups to monitor his hypothyroidism. Despite the discomfort he occasionally experiences with his arthritis, Chance is the stereotypical Golden Retriever. He loves everyone and is a joy to be around. He is not destructive in his home, so does not have to be crated, and he has pretty decent potty habits (he barks when he needs to go out). While he will walk on leash, he cannot walk too much due to arthritis and his large size. He loves children, gets along with other dogs (but doesn`t want to play) and is great with cats and kittens. One of his favorite things to do is go for rides in the car. There are costs involved with owning and caring for Chance, so he will need an adopter who can afford his medical needs. The pleasure of his company, though, is well worth the cost! If you can provide the loving home and continued care that Chance needs, please submit an adoption application online at https://www.mistyeyes.org/adoptionapplication.
