Story
Stella is an older Golden Retriever female dog who was turned into a high-kill shelter. She came to Misty Eyes` foster program in hope of finding her forever home. She is a timid, shy girl who takes some time to feel comfortable. Once she does, she`s very sweet and loving. Stella is an overall healthy girl, but has been diagnosed with ehrlichia, which is a tick-borne disease. Since her blood work is within normal ranges, no treatment is needed. She will probably always test positive for this disease, which may just indicate that she`s been exposed to it. More information about ehrlichia can be found at https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4952341. If you`d like to meet Stella, please submit an adoption application online at https://www.mistyeyes.org/adoptionapplication.

Meet Dandy! She is believed to be a 2 year old Lab retriever mix. Dandy is great and has made steady progress since she arrived at the sanctuary. Dandy has shown she is good with every dog of every size and age she meets, cats and even love the joy kids own. While she is still timid and a bit shy she is outgoing, happy, joyful, and playful. She's our little tom boy in the group of girls. Dandy wrestles, loves toys, dances with Hugo every chance she gets, loves the outdoor altho she still unsure, loves swimming, hiking, and is always pushing to explore life and the true meaning of how a pet should be treated and live for, humans. Her healing has helped her become an amazing dog and she is ready for her forever humans to join her new life adventures. The sky has no limit as long as her people have her back, encourage and push her to try as she experience the life of a pet. Story
Meet Sunny short for Sunflower. She is believed to be a bloodhound shepherd mix possibly retriever. a year old at most. Sunny was pulled from a local shelter Christmas of 2021 after a hoarding abandonment case of 27 plus fearful feral dogs left behind in a property. The home was condemned, disgusting filthy. A home in such condition, no animal or human should have to live in. Sunny and 3 others call the sanctuary home for the time being, all are doing amazing with their rehab, learning what life as a loved pet should be. Sunny struggles to settle in and takes more time then the others. She is the one that stresses easily when meeting new people but with a playful active dog mentoring her she does so much better. She slowly warms up some when it comes to people, still unsure if she wants human affection at first but will always take a treat, moves in for petting, willing to snuggle and even cuddle. Sunny loves all the dogs, is good with cats and small critters too. A 100% secured fenced in yard is a must, A home with other pets is required. At least 1 other balance playful, outgoing dog for her to follow/gravitate toward. Sunny has an amazing personality she herself is still learning about who she is. Always best to approach her slow at first. Sunny needs a lot of confidence still, and that requires a lot of patience with no set time frame and expectations ever. Allow her to live life 1 day at a time. Sunny walks amazing on leash, barks very little but barks. is very playful, loves treats, and eventually settles in. Sunny is house and crate trained, up to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto, rabies, de-wormed, fecal tested negative, micro-chipped, neutered, and on monthly heart-worm flea/tick prevention. Story
Hi, I’m Mackey — a smart, loyal guy with a big heart and a lot of love to give.I’m the kind of dog who thrives in a calm, predictable environment where I can build trust and feel safe. I’m very attentive and love working with my people — I learn quickly and really enjoy having a job to do. Whether it’s learning new commands or just relaxing by your side, I aim to please.I’m still learning how to navigate the world calmly and confidently. Busy environments, lots of noise, or sudden situations can be a little overwhelming for me, so I’m looking for a home that understands my need for space and a gentle, consistent routine. I listen well and truly want to connect — I just need someone patient and understanding to guide me.If you’re looking for a devoted companion and believe in second chances, I’d love to meet you. With hope,Mackey

Story
Truffle is the sweetest 4yr old girl. We got her from a rescue as a puppy and she’s always been energetic, sweet, loving, very intelligent, loves to play but is also ok to nap when we are busy. We work from home so Truffle loves spending lots of time with her family. She’s fully house trained, has free roam over our house and is very respectful, except to steal a shoe every so often to trot past us as an attention ploy, not to destroy. She loves tug of war, fetch, sniffing walks, and treat training. She’s extremely smart and food motivated and responds quickly to instructions/redirections with a treat. Truffle struggles with anxiety, and has a special friend, a behavioral veterinarian who prescribed some anti anxiety meds and this has helped tremendously. However, Truffle still thinks our baby is not a friend, which is our only reason for rehoming. Truffle would prefer to be the only pet in the home.

Story
Looking for a well behaved, adorable and sweet pup? Then look no further than Rose. Roughly a year ago we found Rose on the side of the road and brought her home. We then got her healthy and trained her over that span of time. Rose loves going on walks, runs and hikes. She also loves to play catch. Rose also gives the best hugs and snuggles in the evening while unwinding from the day. Requirements: -No other animals -If children are involved, we recommend them be older due to her size and energy level. -Yard with fence. This does not include dog parks or shared open space at apartments. -Rose has a alot of energy and needs to be walked at least twice a day. We believe she is between 2 and 2.5 years old. Her last vet visit she weighed 55 pounds and very healthy. The adoption fee is negotiatable because we care more about getting her the right home.
