Story
Riggins is a large handsome boy who likes to run around with the other dogs at the rescue. He is somewhat unsure of his place in the pack though. Time spent at a dog park socializing would probably help. Being a doodle, he has a lot of energy and would be best suited to an active family. He would do best with some basic obedience training. Not aggressive, but not very disciplined and a bit rambunctious. Would be great with some good training. The Adoption Fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea, Tick and Heartworm Treatment and Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. FOCCAS does not DNA test or guarantee breed. Story
Buddy needs a new home. His owner does not have enough time to spend with him. He is a very lovable dog. He thinks he a lap dog. He has anxiety when his owner is not at home enough. He would benefit from an owner that can spend more time with him. Possibly having a second dog will help his anxious behavior.

Story
Passion fruit (also called Mango by her foster parents) is a sweet and loving girl who really just wants to cuddle. She is very anxious, but was quick to attach to me and trust me! She needs a loving and patient family who is willing to give her some time to settle in. She LOVES to cuddle on the couch together and has very good manners at home with no chewing and limited barking. When she does bark at a loud or scary noise, she is easily redirected. She is extremely smart and is enjoying learning more tricks! She does well on a leash and enjoys sniffing around outside. She will really love to go for more walks and play outside (and inside) once her heart worm is gone. She is such a good girl and is going to be an amazing companion. She has her last heart worm treatment on 11/8/24. Until then she is on very limited activity, but she's coping with anxiety meds to help her out. If you're interested in adoption, her heart worm treatment is already covered by HSHV! **Passion Fruit has heartworm which means that this dog has parasitic worms in the right ventricle of the heart and nearby blood vessels. Heartworm is transmitted by mosquitoes and can be easily prevented using monthly heartworm preventative, but once the disease is contracted the treatment process can be quite intensive. Passion Fruit will need to remain sedentary with minimal activity during the treatment process to ensure a healthy recovery. There is additional information on heartworm disease and treatment available at our Adoption Desk. **Passion Fruit is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes. Adopting from foster is easy! Please email adoptions@hshv.org or call (734)662-5585 to arrange a meeting today!

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry. Name: WhitneyGender: FemaleDate of Birth: 6/26/2024Breed: Mixed breed (Mom is Golden Retriever, Great Pyrenees and Poodle. Dad is Boxer and American Bulldog)Number of Siblings: 8 This "accidental" litter of puppies was surrendered after the owners became overwhelmed. It was the first and last litter as mom and dad have since been sterilized.  Temperament: Each puppy has their own unique personality, which is just starting to be revealed. They are all learning the world around them. They have been socialized with other dogs, cats and children, making them well rounded family members. Training: These puppies have not yet begun leash training. They will each need a patient family with experience house training. Puppies are prone to chewing and will need a watchful eye to ensure that nothing is accidentally ingested or destroyed. Puppies need someone home more often than not initially for house training and socialization. They are looking for active families and plenty of positive reinforcement. Adopters should be prepared for sleepless nights during crate training. These puppies could grow to be 60 to 100lbs. Tethering is not an ideal method for containment, and they are expected to grow to be large dogs as adults so they will not be a good fit for an apartment or mobile home community.  Whitney can go home with you but will remain in foster-to-adopt status until her spay surgery has been completed at 6 months of age at one of our partner Veterinary offices (Chesterfield, Clinton Twp, Sterling Heights,Clawson or Rochester), which is included in the adoption fee and is non-negotiable.
