We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. ___ Looking for a loyal, active, and affectionate companion to share life’s adventures? Meet Cleveland — a soulful, spirited beauty with a heart of gold and a story that will melt yours. Estimated to be around 2 years old, Cleveland is a spayed female Labrador Retriever and Rhodesian Ridgeback mix currently in Texas, and she can transport out of state once matched with an approved adopter. Her journey began in the unlikeliest of places — inside a cardboard box, where she was found selflessly caring for her day-old puppies. Despite being abandoned with nothing, she poured everything she had into her babies. Now that they’ve grown up and found homes of their own, it’s her turn to be someone’s baby. Cleveland has blossomed into a joyful, playful, and deeply loving dog. She’s the kind of pup who wants to be part of every moment—whether you’re headed out on a hike or curled up for a cozy movie night, she’ll be right there beside you, tail wagging and eyes full of love. Her zest for life is contagious, and her happy energy will bring light into any home. This smart girl is crate-trained, housebroken, and knows her basic commands. She’s eager to please, responds well to gentle correction, and walks like a dream on leash. She rides calmly in the car and settles nicely at home after a bit of play. Her favorite things? Walks, squeaky toys, soft beds, and being near her people—bonus points if you let her rest her head in your lap. Cleveland would thrive in a home with adults or older kids (12+) who understand that trust takes time. Once she knows she’s safe, she bonds deeply and loves with her whole heart. While she’d be perfectly content soaking up all the love as your one-and-only, she may also enjoy the company of a playful, confident, or very submissive dog who doesn’t mind her rough-and-tumble play style. She’s looking for a forever family who’ll not only match her energy, but also give her the consistency, structure, and affection she craves. After all she’s been through, she deserves to know the security of a home and the joy of being truly cherished. Cleveland is ready for her next chapter—and she’s hoping it’s with you. ___ ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. Story
Meet Kristie, a sweet and beautiful female goldendoodle, 3 to 4 years old and weighing just under 40 pounds. Having been rescued from a past of neglect and repeated breeding, she is now seeking a life filled with love, comfort, fun, and security!Kristie needs an abundance of affection and attention, a safe and cozy home, nutritious meals, and regular grooming (she does not shed). She`s playful and enjoys the company of other friendly dogs. She seems to prefer bonding with one or two adult humans in the home, but would be all right with visiting children or older kids. (She`s just a little jumpy with loud noises or unexpected movements.) She does well on a leash. Because she enjoys running and also likes to `do her business` somewhat privately, a good-sized fenced yard is preferred. In her foster home where she is rarely alone, she has not had issues with house training. She goes out whenever the door is opened and has had no problems getting through the night. However, she did have some problems in another home; so we think she`ll do best with a family that doesn`t have to depend on her to `hold it` for long.Kristie (who will be happy to have a new name) has been microchipped and kept current on vaccines and monthly preventatives. For additional information about her, feel free to email her foster home at blairhsow@gmail.com. If you`re interested in adopting, please submit a detailed application at https://www.humanesocietyofwilkes.org/adopt/application.( Adoption fee: $150.)

Good with dogs, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Bella is one of our senior dogs at around 10 years old and came in with her absolute best friend Bobby who is around her age as well. Bella, or Daisy, is a very sweet girl who just loves quality time and she enjoys walks just like any dog, but would also be a great companion to lay on the couch and watch tv all day long. We do need Bella and Bobby to leave together as they are very bonded and would not do well separated. We believe they would do well with children and elderly due to them being gentle, though Bobby can be a little shy so he may do best with older kids. They are housetrained and believed to do well with other dogs. Bella is up to date on her vaccines and is patiently waiting for hers and Bobby's forever home.
