Story
Meet McCoy – the sweetest little sidekick you didn’t know you were missing. At just 4.5 months old and 24 pounds, McCoy is a delightful mix of silly, snuggly, and smart. He may be a tiny bit shy at first, but give him a little patience and you’ll quickly discover his playful personality and affectionate heart. McCoy comes from a pretty interesting family tree! His mom is a Heeler/Beagle mix and his dad is a cream-colored Goldendoodle, which resulted in one very unique and adorable pup. He has the coloring of his siblings but favors his Beagle-mix mama in looks — with short little legs, a loooong Basset-style body, and a thick, medium-length coat that’s perfect for cuddling. Though he was born outside and spent his early weeks living outdoors with his parents and littermates, McCoy is now thriving inside a loving foster home. He’s learning all about family life — from the excitement of greeting you at the door (he gives the best welcome-home kisses!) to living with young boys ages 6 and 10. Every day he grows braver and more confident. At first, the big dogs in his foster home made him a little nervous — but now? He’s happily part of the crew. He absolutely loves to run and play outside, and fetch with tennis balls is quickly becoming one of his favorite games. And yes… he is SMART. You can just see those wheels turning. One of the most special things about McCoy is how deeply he bonds with his people. When his foster mom recently had a terrible migraine, McCoy instinctively curled up beside her and stayed close, offering quiet comfort. He’s not just cute — he truly cares. His activity level is beautifully balanced. He enjoys playtime and adventures, but he’s just as happy snuggled up right next to you. With a loving, supportive family, McCoy is going to absolutely bloom into the best kind of companion — loyal, joyful, and full of heart. He is expected to grow to around 45–50 pounds when fully grown. If you’re looking for a special boy who is adorable inside and out, McCoy may be your perfect match. To learn more about McCoy, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com. We transport from our rescue base in Nashville up the northeastern corridor of states to approved adopters. McCoy is ready to find his forever family — maybe it’s you. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 10, 2026, 12:26 pm

Looking for your next furry BFF?   We don’t have perfect dogs — but we do have dogs who are perfect for the right someone. Our goal is to match each dog with the home that fits them best and each home with the dog that will sing to your heart. Ready to adopt? Complete an application at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org/application   Foster location: Dreamweaver Farm Pacolet SC Weight: 48 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $1 - I am priceless (donations gratefully accepted) Fence needed? Preferred although with the right plan for off leash exercise and tons of people time, Hank could be flexible Want To Know More About Me?   Text Hank to 864-441-9075 for my full story and photos - we'll send everything you need to know! Here's Your Quick Peek: We all love this dog here - but "we" are the staff and caregivers who know and live dogs constantly. We understand what a dog like Hanks wants and needs.  It's not to be coddled.  It's to be respected and partnered with.  We want to be completely honest when it comes to Hank, because finding the right home for him matters more than anything. Hank is not the right fit for every household.  He has been in the wrong home before and we won't do that to him again.  But - in the right environment, he has the potential to be an incredibly loving and rewarding companion. Hank has bitten in the past, and because of this history he will not be placed in a home with children. He needs a calm, predictable, and permanently child-free household where routines are steady and expectations are clear. Hank is a young dog who still needs guidance and structure as he continues learning how to navigate life as a family pet.  Please note, you will be his 3rd home.  We think the third time is the charm.   Must have: A committed owner who understands that behavior in the past can be shaped and changed. Hank thrives best in a force free, positive motivation environment.  He loves to learn. Exercise:  Yes - 2 to 3 miles per day and about 1/2 hour off lead romp time (ball chasing his specialty) Best with: Hank wants to be your one and only.  While he is great meeting and greeting on casual walks or trips to the beach or mountains, he has no need for dog parks.  Hank thinks people are cool.    Not ideal for:  A low energy home, someone who does not understand and know how to shape dog behavior Energy level: 6 (scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being low and 10 being marathon runner)  Hank is a  deeply affectionate and people-loving dog.  He enjoys being with his humans, exploring the outdoors, and running freely in a big field. He would happily join his family for hikes, beach days, or car rides - he absolutely loves the car. He also does wonderfully for grooming and baths and is calm and cooperative on the grooming table. What we see today is a sweet, energetic young dog who simply needs the right structure, boundaries, and understanding. For the right adopter - someone experienced, patient, and committed to providing a stable, child-free home - Hank will be an incredibly loyal, loving companion who is ready for a fresh start and a life full of adventure and connection. Good with dogs:  He can co-exist peacefully in the public world but at home, he wants to be your one and only Good with kids:  Because of Hank's bite history, we will not place him in a home with children under 18.  This is an Adult Only playmate Cats: Unknown but can be tested Fun fact:  Hank will not let a squeaky toy live! He is an expert in squeak-ectomy's!   Potential Adopters   Dogs can’t drive - and since we’re busy taking care of them, we can’t either! Story
Turbo is a truly special 9-year-old boy with a gentle heart and a calm, steady presence that makes him stand out in the best way. He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t ask for much—just a soft place to rest, a ball to enjoy now and then, and someone to share his quiet moments with. As a gentle giant, Turbo brings a peaceful energy wherever he goes. He’s one of the calmest dogs at the shelter and would thrive in a relaxed home where he can simply be by your side. He gets along with other dogs, especially those who share his easygoing nature, but he would be happiest in a home without small children or small pets so he can fully enjoy his laid-back lifestyle.Turbo is a creature of habit and finds comfort in routine. Once he settles in, he becomes an easy, steady companion—loyal, loving, and always there. He may be in his senior years, but he still has so much love to give and is just waiting for someone to give him the chance. If you’re looking for a calm, devoted friend who will fill your home with quiet love and companionship, Turbo could be the perfect match for you.
