She is not going to come running up to you but she won't run away either.  She will need some patience.  You are NEW and she wants time to get to know you.  Our groomer calls these girls "crock pot" dogs - slow to warm up but oh if you give them the time, the flavor of your new relationship will be exquisite.   How do I act when I first meet new people?  When meeting new people, Kristie is friendly but a little shy at first. If you’d like to win her over, it’s best to approach her with an underhanded gesture and give her a scratch on the chin or chest—she’ll quickly warm up to you and allow you to pet her. Other tips and tidbits: Kristie was born on 01/15/19. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. We call her Penny for short.  Penny would do well in nearly any home provided her adopters are loving and include her in all their adventures. Whether you are a single person, a couple, or a family Penny simply wants to play and shower you with love. Julie is a beautiful, loving, joyful, and calm girl in search of her forever home! Julie came to us as a breeder release, and although much of the world is new to her, she approaches everything with a loving attitude. Her motto echoes The Beatles, All You Need Is Love! Julie does well on the leash but could use refresher training. She does not know any commands, but she is eager to please and we’re confident she’ll be a quick learner. The time you spend leash training and teaching her commands will be a rewarding bonding experience that will strengthen your connection. Julie would do well in a variety of homes, all she’s looking for is loving adopters be they a single person, a couple, or a family. She would be thrilled to have a fenced in yard to safely play in with kids or another dog. Turbo is a big dog with a bigger personality. Turbo likes his live a certain way, which is mainly a ball to play with, a person to be with, and a nice bed to lay on. He is tolerant of other dogs, and can definitely go to a house with the right fur siblings, but he is more interested in living the calm life. His size really doesn’t match his temperament, as he is one of the calmest dogs at the shelter. It won’t take him long to catch on to your home routine, and once he has it down, your day to day life with Turbo should be very easy. He prefers calmer dogs around his size, and no small kids or animals. He is a dog that won’t change your lifestyle very much once you take him home!

Hey! My name is Penny and I am looking for my forever home. My friends at the shelter describe me as calm and loving. After a short walk I am content to hop up on my bench and take a nice, long nap. I take treats gently and am very easy to leash up. For some reason I do not like cats and would need to go to a home without cats. Some dogs are ok with me but others I don`t like as much. It is hard to say if I will like my protentional dog sibling or not, but don`t worry, you can bring them by the shelter and I can decide for myself when I meet them. A more calm dog with a soft approach seems to be more up my alley. I have a lot of love to give and just want the right family to give it to!
