Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.THACKERY came from Slate Lake which is a Northern Ontario community and he came south in search of his forever family. He’s neutered, vaccinated including rabies, microchipped and been deemed a healthy boy. We’ve been told one of his parents was a Golden Retriever but no information on what breed the other parent could be. At a guess though, we think possibly a German Shepherd. Seeing as we don’t know both parents the size he’ll grow to be is also a guess but seeing as he’s just on a year old, chances are he’ll not grow much bigger. THACKERY is crate trained and sleeps quietly in there through the night and he’s also housetrained and will let you know when he has to go outside for his bathroom break. He loves to go on walks but would benefit from some leash training so he understands what’s expected of him when leash walking. He’s well socialized with other dogs and currently being fostered with 2 resident dogs and they all get along very well. Other dogs also come over to the house for visits so lots of doggie experience for this young man. Seeing as he loves to be with other dogs we would like to see him go to a home that has another one and one who’s a gentle soul just like he is. He loves to play outside in the yard and run around with his friends so a fenced-in yard is required for him. He has met a cat in his foster home and he’s not bothered by him at all but they haven’t actually met face-to-face so we would only recommend a home with a dog savvy cat and the two should only meet under strict supervision. THACKERY is very playful and loving and he loves nothing better than getting attention and having snuggles with his human on the couch. He is a sensitive somewhat anxious boy due to not having had a lot of human interaction but he did get attached to his foster mum pretty quickly. He now wants nothing more than to be with her so we would prefer him to go to a home that has someone who’s around most of the time. The toys he can play with are quite limited as he loves to chew so he would need super strong chewy ones, Nyla bones, deer antlers etc. Due to being a bit anxious he needs to be monitored if he starts to chew on his dog bed or blankets as he has been caught doing that a few times. An experienced dog owner is required for him and a quiet home to suit his sensitive nature. He’s not been exposed to too much noise and he tends to be a bit jumpy because of that. He does know some basic commands like sit, stay and will take his treats “gentle.” He does love his food and eats alongside the other dogs in the home with no problems at all. He hasn’t been exposed to children so we’re recommending they be aged 12 plus and be caring and loving towards dogs. He’s still under a year old and he would definitely benefit from obedience/leash training so please only apply for him if you’re going to be committed to doing this for him.   If THACKERY sounds like the boy for you then please submit an adoption application to meet him. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 25, 2024, 5:50 pm

Story
Background: Waffles has had quite the journey before finding his way to us. Originally living on the streets of Turkey, he was picked up by the municipal shelter, where life was tough and uncertain. Fortunately, kind-hearted volunteers intervened, rescuing him from the shelter's grim fate. Despite being released back onto the streets, fate led him back to the shelter, where he was once again taken in. Eventually, a compassionate rescue organization in Istanbul learned about Waffles and provided him with the safety and care he deserves. He currently lives in the shelter of the rescue in Istanbul. Personality: Waffles is a charming and intelligent dog who has quickly stolen the hearts of everyone he meets. He's incredibly social, getting along well with both cats and dogs, and he absolutely adores people. With his handsome appearance and warm personality, Waffles is sure to bring joy and laughter to any home lucky enough to welcome him. Ideal Home: Waffles is searching for his forever home, where he can finally experience the love and stability he deserves. He thrives on companionship and would do well in a home where he can spend plenty of time with his human family. A household with other pets would be a bonus, as Waffles enjoys the company of both cats and dogs. He's also very smart and would benefit from continued mental stimulation and training. Waffles is eagerly awaiting the chance to become a cherished member of your family and bring endless happiness into your life. Waffles can fly to Toronto or Vancouver when he finds his forever home! If you're interested in giving Waffles the loving home he's been dreaming of, please fill out our adoption form; https://www.cheers2paws.org/dog-adoption-form

Story
My name is Joong bak and I am a playful Retriever mix, aged 3. Sadly, for most of my life, I had to wander here and there, and no one knows where I am from. However, as there is no such a law that lets me die, I met a kind chairman who helped find a place to stay and get fed. Now, I want to move forward finding my forever home and share my happy virus to my family. If I had to sum myself up in one word, it would be 'Energetic!' I find joy in every activity, especially when it involves human companions. There's always a reason to be happy, right? Welcoming people with open paws is my forte, and I thrive on the love I receive through cuddles and, of course, snacks. I'm a snuggle expert, though my excitement can sometimes get the best of me due to my limited experience with humans. Hence, a family ready to handle my high energy level is strongly recommended. While I'm friendly, a household with cats or young children might not be the best fit, as my exuberance tends to express itself through jumping. My friendliness is extended to my doggie friends too. I can share treats and toys with them, and love to smell out each other. Enjoying fresh atmosphere with committed physical activity with friends makes me blessed. Being aggressive or assertive will be the last words you can find from me. I carry no aggression and boast an innocent and pure mind, as noted by my handler. Of course, outdoor activities are my No.1 things to do. I prefer to do my business outside, and I need to consume sufficient energy with intensive exercise which is very Retriever thing. If you can assist me in becoming a better walker, that would be the perfect gift. And imagine the joy we could share by exploring riversides or mountains together! I am waiting for someone who can show me a new world that is full of love and joy. I want to give my happiness and positive energy to the people I love. Would you be my forever family? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeUOCAIekfk&list=PLIsLTtIpe3JyoM0Xd1XCH5Fr-GCde_DYW ❤ we accept both Canada/US applicants ❤
