Story
My name is Joong bak and I am a playful Retriever mix, aged 3. Sadly, for most of my life, I had to wander here and there, and no one knows where I am from. However, as there is no such a law that lets me die, I met a kind chairman who helped find a place to stay and get fed. Now, I want to move forward finding my forever home and share my happy virus to my family. If I had to sum myself up in one word, it would be 'Energetic!' I find joy in every activity, especially when it involves human companions. There's always a reason to be happy, right? Welcoming people with open paws is my forte, and I thrive on the love I receive through cuddles and, of course, snacks. I'm a snuggle expert, though my excitement can sometimes get the best of me due to my limited experience with humans. Hence, a family ready to handle my high energy level is strongly recommended. While I'm friendly, a household with cats or young children might not be the best fit, as my exuberance tends to express itself through jumping. My friendliness is extended to my doggie friends too. I can share treats and toys with them, and love to smell out each other. Enjoying fresh atmosphere with committed physical activity with friends makes me blessed. Being aggressive or assertive will be the last words you can find from me. I carry no aggression and boast an innocent and pure mind, as noted by my handler. Of course, outdoor activities are my No.1 things to do. I prefer to do my business outside, and I need to consume sufficient energy with intensive exercise which is very Retriever thing. If you can assist me in becoming a better walker, that would be the perfect gift. And imagine the joy we could share by exploring riversides or mountains together! I am waiting for someone who can show me a new world that is full of love and joy. I want to give my happiness and positive energy to the people I love. Would you be my forever family? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeUOCAIekfk&list=PLIsLTtIpe3JyoM0Xd1XCH5Fr-GCde_DYW ❤ we accept both Canada/US applicants ❤

Story
Lily is a 2 year old Golden Retriever who came into the shelter through no fault of her own. She will need an owner willing to work on her leash skills and her tendency to wander. She should also go into a home where someone is frequently home to keep her company as she does display some separation anxiety. Lily is a typical Golden Retriever who really loves to be around people, but is somewhat lacking in social skills with other dogs (which is not typical of her breed). Lily will need to learn how to behave appropriately around other dogs before she can go to an off-leash dog park or be left unattended with another dog. She will need an owner who understands what it will take to socialize a 2 year old dog with other dogs, and who is also home frequently (Lily does not like to be alone for extended periods of time, and tends to plot her escape if left unattended for too long). Liily is housebroken and keeps her kennel very clean. She was recently spayed here at the shelter, and will require a few more days of quiet time as she continues to heal from her surgery. Lily also thinks that she is the first dog to ever undergo spay surgery in the history of dogs, and is thoroughly enjoying being spoiled rotten and milking it for all she is worth. Luckily, nobody can resist this sweet young girl, who loves to gives kisses and hugs, and really enjoys having her paw held while being comforted. Contact the East Region shelter at 416-338-7297 if you are interested in adopting Lily. She is an in-demand breed of dog and will likely get adopted early in the morning! But we are looking for someone with experience to deal with some of her issues.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.THACKERY came from Slate Lake which is a Northern Ontario community and he came south in search of his forever family. He’s neutered, vaccinated including rabies, microchipped and been deemed a healthy boy. We’ve been told one of his parents was a Golden Retriever but no information on what breed the other parent could be. At a guess though, we think possibly a German Shepherd. Seeing as we don’t know both parents the size he’ll grow to be is also a guess but seeing as he’s just on a year old, chances are he’ll not grow much bigger. THACKERY is crate trained and sleeps quietly in there through the night and he’s also housetrained and will let you know when he has to go outside for his bathroom break. He loves to go on walks but would benefit from some leash training so he understands what’s expected of him when leash walking. He’s well socialized with other dogs and currently being fostered with 2 resident dogs and they all get along very well. Other dogs also come over to the house for visits so lots of doggie experience for this young man. Seeing as he loves to be with other dogs we would like to see him go to a home that has another one and one who’s a gentle soul just like he is. He loves to play outside in the yard and run around with his friends so a fenced-in yard is required for him. He has met a cat in his foster home and he’s not bothered by him at all but they haven’t actually met face-to-face so we would only recommend a home with a dog savvy cat and the two should only meet under strict supervision. THACKERY is very playful and loving and he loves nothing better than getting attention and having snuggles with his human on the couch. He is a sensitive somewhat anxious boy due to not having had a lot of human interaction but he did get attached to his foster mum pretty quickly. He now wants nothing more than to be with her so we would prefer him to go to a home that has someone who’s around most of the time. The toys he can play with are quite limited as he loves to chew so he would need super strong chewy ones, Nyla bones, deer antlers etc. Due to being a bit anxious he needs to be monitored if he starts to chew on his dog bed or blankets as he has been caught doing that a few times. An experienced dog owner is required for him and a quiet home to suit his sensitive nature. He’s not been exposed to too much noise and he tends to be a bit jumpy because of that. He does know some basic commands like sit, stay and will take his treats “gentle.” He does love his food and eats alongside the other dogs in the home with no problems at all. He hasn’t been exposed to children so we’re recommending they be aged 12 plus and be caring and loving towards dogs. He’s still under a year old and he would definitely benefit from obedience/leash training so please only apply for him if you’re going to be committed to doing this for him.   If THACKERY sounds like the boy for you then please submit an adoption application to meet him. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 8, 2024, 3:59 pm

Story
🐾 Meet Hailey - A Survivor with a Heart Full of Love 🐾 My name is Hailey, a resilient 6-year-old English Setter mix, currently living in a shelter in Turkey and I'm on a journey to find the loving family I've always deserved. My story is one of survival, resilience, and an unbreakable spirit. About Me: Age: 6 years (approximately) Breed: English Setter Mix (based on her look) Personality: Energetic, affectionate, and forever grateful. Despite a challenging past, my heart is filled with love, and I'm ready to share it with a family who will cherish me. My Story: My journey hasn't been easy. I was once used for breeding by heartless individuals who cared more about profit than my well-being. Thankfully, vigilant neighbours reported the backyard breeder to the city. In a desperate attempt to avoid charges, the breeder callously disposed of my precious puppies in a garbage bin before the authorities arrived. When the city discovered this heartbreaking scene, none of my puppies had survived. The city, recognizing the injustice I had endured, took me under their care. Eventually, a compassionate rescue stepped in, offering me a second chance at a life filled with love, care, and kindness. Favorites: Loves Humans: My heart craves human company. I thrive on affection and companionship, always seeking the warmth of a loving touch. Your love will be the healing balm to my wounded past. Energetic Explorer: Despite my history, I have an exuberant spirit and love to explore. Walks, playtime, and shared adventures are some of my favorite things. Resilient Survivor: I may have scars in my heart, but they tell a story of strength and resilience. I'm looking for a family that understands the power of love and is ready to provide a safe haven for my golden years. Adoption Information: Location: Currently seeking a forever home in a shelter in Turkey Health: The care I've received since my rescue has restored my health, and I'm ready to embark on a new chapter with a loving family. Ready for Love: Having known the worst of humanity, I am now ready to experience the best that a loving family has to offer. How You Can Help: If adoption isn't possible for you, you can still make a significant impact on my life. Consider supporting the rescue through donations, volunteering, or sharing my story to help me find a family that will cherish me forever. I'm ready to turn the page on my sad past and start a new chapter with a family who understands the true meaning of love. Are you ready to be the hero of my story? Let's create a future filled with love together! 🐾💖 Hailey can fly to Toronto or Vancouver when she finds her forever home! Story
🐾 Meet Henry! 🐾 Currently in Hamilton, ON Are you ready to welcome a furry bundle of love into your home? Look no further than Henry, the charming 4-year-old male English Setter ready to steal your heart! Henry's journey began on the streets, but his luck turned around when he was rescued and adopted by a family. Unfortunately, the family's resident dog could not accept Henry and the family is worried about the other dog's aggression towards Henry. This is why Henry is looking for his forever home. From the moment you meet him, you'll be captivated by his friendly disposition and impeccable manners. This affectionate pup thrives on attention and will melt into your arms with his gentle nature. With a high energy level, Henry is the perfect companion for outdoor activities. Social butterflies, take note! Henry gets along famously with other dogs, making him an ideal addition to multi-pet households. We're unsure about his interactions with kids and cats. Henry has mastered basic training, though he may occasionally get excited and pull on his leash – a small quirk in an otherwise well-behaved pup. Rest assured, Henry is in the pink of health with up-to-date vaccinations and regular vet visits. All that's missing is his forever home, filled with love and laughter. If you're ready to open your heart and home to Henry, please fill out our adoption form; https://www.cheers2paws.org/dog-adoption-form
