Story
Sweet Evie just arrived at rescue. Her family couldn't keep her. Evie is not so great with other dogs, but we feel this is a work in progress. She is currently with a trainer that is working on obedience and teaching her to be dog social. She is just unsure; she hasn't had any exposure to other dogs. Evie is a little shy but really warms up quickly. She is building confidence and experiencing new things. Evie is house trained and crate trained. She prefers kids over 10 years of age, she gets a bit nervous with the fast moving ones. Evelyn had to have her ears shaved due to matting, but she should have fluff back in no time. A beautiful good girl !

Story
Miss Bella is looking for a home. A family gave her up after they decided to get small dogs, and Bella plays too rough with them. It does look like she's had a few litters as well. Bella is a little unsure in new situations, she's not had a ton of socialization, but comes around in a few minutes. Bella knows how to walk on a leash, sit and down. She's a very sweet girl that would enjoy a dog a bit sturdier to hang out with. Bella was great with the kids in the home and is wonderfully house trained. Bella loves walks, hikes and spending time with other dogs and her foster family. She does seem to shed a bit but this may change after she's spayed and less stressed. She's really a great dog!

Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 1/21/25 Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Merry Goldie is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Merry Goldie is not hypoallergenic and does shed.  Weight: 67 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: No. Merry Goldie will be spayed on 2/18/25. We are accepting applications to adopt now. Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes, Merry Goldie requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Merry will  thrive in a home where she can receive plenty of one-on-one attention and gentle training. Ideally, her new owner will be someone who is home most or all of the day, as Merry is still adjusting to life outside the breeder's care. With her own loving family, she’ll become the happy, confident dog she was always meant to be. Merry could fit into a variety of home situations, whether she’s adopted by a single person, a couple, or a family. However, because of her shyness and sensitivity to new experiences, a family with older children (12+) who can be respectful of her quiet nature would be the best fit. Merry has never known life without canine companions. She requires a home with another large, confident dog for behavioral modeling and socialization.  Merry is patiently waiting for the special person who will give her the love, care, and commitment she deserves. If you have a heart full of patience and a home that can offer her the time and space to grow, Merry is ready to meet you! What is my personality like?  Meet Merry, a beautiful Golden Retriever that is ready to blossom into your lifelong companion. After retiring from a breeder, Merry is ready to experience life as a cherished pet. She’s still discovering the world and learning that people can be kind, but she’ll thrive in the right environment with the right person. Merry is new to many aspects of life outside of her previous experiences, so she’s a little shy and reserved when meeting new people. It will take some time for her to build trust, but she has so much potential to become a loving companion once she feels safe and secure. Because of her past, Merry needs an adopter who has the time, patience, and understanding to help her adjust to her new life. Merry is already walking on a leash but will need some help adjusting to outdoor walks, as many things can startle her. She’s also still working on learning basic commands, but this will come with time and patience.  Merry is a reserved and cautious girl who’s still adjusting to the world around her.  How do I act when I first meet new people?  When meeting new people, Merry is shy and reserved. While she may not actively seek out affection just yet, she does welcome gentle pets and kindness—she’s just waiting for someone to show her the way. Other tips and tidbits: Merry’s birthday is 5/20/2017. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. February 12, 2025, 6:57 pm

Oakley is up to date on vaccines for his age and heartworm negative and neutred.  Oakley is a goldendoodle. We will never guarantee that a doodle is hypoallergenic or that they won't shed. Weight: 40 lbs Height: 24 in at the shoulder est Spayed/Neutered:  Yes Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes, Oakley requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller - please do NOT ask if you don't have a physically fenced yard.  He really needs the security.   What kind of home would be best for me? Oakley is an attention-loving boy who will need his adopters to be around most, if not all, of the time. He would do best in a home where someone is there to spend the day playing with him – whether it's the kids, mom, or dad. Oakley is also an excellent fit for an active person or family who loves outdoor activities. He would happily join you for hikes, walks, trips to the beach, and more!  Because of his size and boundless energy, Oakley isn’t suited for apartment living. He’ll need a home with a fenced-in yard where he can run, play, and burn off all that energy. Oakley would thrive with another large, highly active dog in the household who can serve as a role model and help him become a well-behaved companion. Oakley is a highly energetic dog, which can sometimes be overwhelming for other dogs. He’s not a good fit for homes with cats. What is my personality like? Meet Oakley – an energetic, playful puppy with one speed - full throttle! Oakley is ready to find his forever home, but his adopters will need to match his high energy and dedicate time to his training and socialization. This enthusiastic boy needs to learn it all, from basic commands to how to walk on a leash. In addition to an active lifestyle, Oakley’s new family will need to have patience and a commitment to training. With his boundless energy, he’ll need guidance on leash walking and learning basic commands. A professional trainer with experience in handling high-energy dogs may be a great option for Oakley’s success. One thing that will definitely slow Oakley down is getting love and attention. He adores being petted and will happily sit and soak up affection. And if you stop, don’t be surprised if he jumps up to give you a hug, begging for more! If you have the time, patience, and energy to work with this lovable, big boy, Oakley is waiting for you. He’s eager to become an inseparable part of your family, bringing excitement, joy, and unconditional love into your life! How do I act when I first meet new people? Oakley is absolutely thrilled to meet new people! His excitement knows no bounds, and there’s nothing he loves more than being surrounded by his human friends. Other tips and tidbits: Oakley was born on 1/11/2024. House trained?
