Story
Meet Nugget! Breed: collie/retriever mix is our best guess. Age: est 4 months, approx birthdate 8/6/23. Weight: 15-ish lbs currently, we estimate 40ish lbs when full grown. Training: crate trained, working on leash and house training. Good with other dogs/cats? Yes. Good with adults/kids? Yes. Personality: loving, friendly and playful. Reason for rescue: believed to have been dumped on someone's property who trapped him. He was very afraid at first, but has come so far! He LOVES other dogs and toys. He does fine with other cats and kids, but because of his initial shyness, we think older kids that understand he will need time to warm up, is best. He has really blossomed since his intake. He still gets a little timid when it comes time to pick him up, but once he is in your arms, he loves to cuddle! Nugget would do best with another canine companion to help show him the ropes. He LOVES other dogs. He would do best with a fenced yard. Nugget is microchipped and current on vaccinations and preventatives. He will need to be neutered before 6 months of age. If interested in adding this sweet boy to your family, please message for an adoption application! Adoption fee: $75.December 5, 2023, 1:11 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  100% of every adoption fee and donation go toward the care of our rescues.      Chance is a lovely, sweet, gentle soul who just wants to be with his person. He LOVES to go for walks and does walk 1 1/2 mile few times a week. He plays well with other dogs and is in love with the neighbor's Yorkie. He is currently in a foster home with a Great Pyr and they do play together. He's not big on toys, or balls.  He had been pretty neglected and upon arrival to foster home he had to have 17 teeth removed due to decay and broken....it hasn't affected his eating, which he loves, but sometimes kibble will fall out of his mouth. He learned that McDonald's bags mean good things!  So if you see his tongue out in pics, it's because he has no teeth in the front. Just being an older boy he's on supplements for arthritis and doing well. He does like to sleep in SOFT spots...like the bed! He deserves that forever home that will keep him close all the time. He just wants to be with you!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 21, 2023, 11:14 am

Story
Joy is such a joy to have around! She's very playful, both with friends and on her own. She's already house trained, and can be trusted around the house without supervision--both very rare for puppy this age! She's also perfectly happy in her crate or napping all day on the couch. But her very favorite place is a sunny spot in the yard, preferably with a pine cone to play with. She also loves hunting for bugs and frogs in the tall grass. Joy is brave, alert, and curious, and is already learning to sit and catch. To meet one of our adoptable pets or to start the adoption process, please access the adoption application on our website, www.crossroadsanimalrescue.org or download and email it to crossroadsanimalrescuesc@gmail.com. We will then approve you (sending in the application does not obligate you to adopt) and we can set up a time for you to meet one or more of our pets. You can then pay the adoption fee and officially adopt after meeting your new family member. Alternatively, you can do the adoption over the phone before meeting your new pet. The benefit to this is that we will hold the pet for you. However, the adoption fee is non-refundable if you changed your mind after adopting over the phone. Most of our pets are obtained from animal control and therefore we are not certain of their breed or breed mix. We list breed mixes that they most resemble or that their former owners said they were. However, we don't make any guarantees about breed - it is a best guess! Our adoption fees include the spay/neuter surgery, deworming, vet exam, and up to date vaccines. It also includes microchipping as well as heartworm testing or feline leukemia testing. We are happy to adopt out-of-state (and even out of the country!) but transportation for the adopted pet is the responsibility of the new pet owner. If you cannot adopt a pet at this time but would like to support our rescue, please click on the "Sponsor a Pet" button. Your donation will help feed the dogs, cats, small animals, and horses at CARE. Please email at crossroadsanimalrescuesc@gmail.com or call us at (864)972-9906 for more information. This phone number will reach Crossroads Animal Hospital, which is the home of CARE. During business hours, a receptionist will be able to speak with you regarding our adoptable pets. After business hours, the only way to contact CARE is via email. Our puppies and kittens are also eligible for 10% off the rest of the vaccines in their puppy/kitten vaccination series at Crossroads Animal Hospital. Most adult pets are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Puppies and kittens may have the surgery before adoption or we may have new owners return later for the surgery.
