Story
Meet Jasper, a gentle and curious boy who is looking for his forever home. Jasper is about 3-4 years old. He requires a forever home who can be patient with him. Jasper started off life not knowing love or knowing human touch. He and his mom, Lucy, were kept alive by kind neighbors who tossed them food. Now, Jasper is learning what it means to be loved and cared for! He enjoys the simple pleasures in life: a dip in the pond on a summer day, quiet walks where he can take in the world around him, and the comfort of a warm home where he can watch the world go by out the window. While Jasper is shy and anxious due to his past, he is coming around and loves to boop familiar people with his nose. You can brush him and give him some gentle pets. Jasper is good with other dogs and cats. Jasper is a unique soul who is worth the extra patience and love he may require. If you're looking for a quiet, gentle boy to add to your family, Jasper may be the perfect match. He gets a lot of confidence from his mom, Lucy, so a home with Lucy is preferable but not required. They have been in the rescue as they spent time decompressing and starting to learn to trust and love. They are now ready to find their forever home. Story
Meet Lucy, a gentle and sweet girl who is looking for her forever home. Lucy is about 4-5 years old. She requires a forever home who can be patient with her. Lucy lived a portion of her life not knowing love or human touch. She and her son, Jasper, were kept alive by kind neighbors who tossed them food. Now, Lucy is learning what it means to be loved and cared for! She enjoys watching the world out the window, going for walks (she walks well on leash), and being pet all over and brushed. When she sees someone she knows well, she greets them by squinting her eyes and smiling. If Lucy thinks her son, Jasper, is getting too much attention, she will insert herself so she gets all the pets. It is heartwarming to see a dog who was petrified of people enjoying being pet and loved on by those she has gotten to know! Lucy is good with other dogs and cats. Lucy is warming up to people, though she is not your stereotypical golden who will go up to anyone and everyone. She needs a home that is quiet and patient. Jasper gets a lot of confidence from Lucy, so a home with Jasper is preferable but not required. They have been in the rescue as they spent time decompressing and starting to learn to trust and love. They are now ready to find their forever home. See a video of Jasper and Lucy here: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/18gSY51A9W/

Story
Sven wakes up happy every single day. He’s the kind of dog that always seems to be smiling, always ready for whatever comes next, and always excited to be part of things without becoming overwhelming or chaotic. Sven is a one-year-old mix breed who has the coat and face of a golden retriever and the compact build of a heeler. He has a great middle-ground personality that makes him easy to live with. When it’s time to play, go for a walk, or hang out with other dogs, he’s fully in. But once the excitement is over, he settles down nicely instead of endlessly bouncing off the walls. He gets along great with dogs of all sizes and has a naturally social, easygoing personality that helps him fit into just about any environment. Sven has the fun energy people want in a young dog without the constant intensity that can make some high-energy breeds exhausting. Good fit: someone wanting a happy, social dog that enjoys activity but also knows how to relax and settle into daily life. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Location: Oklahoma (available to approved out-of-state adopters via transport) Health: Fully vetted (spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested) Adoption fee: $500 (includes transport + vetting) Transport routes: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ, VT Think you might be a good fit? Story
My name is Charlie and my housemate, Lucy and I were surrendered to rescue after my home could no longer keep us. We are not bonded together but could certainly go together to a family. The rescue is still learning about us, but we know we are sweet, affectionate, lovely and loyal. We do well with other dogs and are looking forward to a forever retirement home. Interested in adoption? The first step is an application at paddyspaws.blogspot.com. Please do not apply if pets in the home are not up to date per our website requirements or are not altered. Our rescue adopts to Wisconsin and Illinois. Our requirements for Illinois applications are: excellent vet history, no children under 7 in the home, and an owned home. Wisconsin does not have these requirements, though we will not consider applications where pets are missing core veterinary care. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once approved a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $250.
