Story
Marley is an almost 8-year-old neutered male Golden Retriever with a big heart, a goofy personality, and lots of love to give. He’s a sweet, expressive boy who has made great progress settling into his home and continues to show how adaptable and resilient he is. Marley has a history of resource guarding around food and clearly communicates when he feels unsure. With patience, consistency, and thoughtful management, he can be redirected and supported through moments of hyperarousal. Building trust around food will take time, but Marley is responsive and trying hard. He gets along well with other dogs as long as food is not involved and could potentially live with another dog in a patient, attentive home with clear boundaries around feeding and high-value items. Marley loves winter adventures—running in the snow, hanging out during backyard sauna sessions, cuddling by the fire, and enthusiastically participating in sledding (sometimes as an obstacle). He’s a skilled communicator who makes lots of endearing little noises and shows affection by proudly carrying toys or socks as “gifts.” He has most of his basic training down and would thrive in a home with space to roam, ideally somewhere he can run and explore. Marley is a goofy, loving companion who will deeply bond with the right person.

Story
🐾 Dog-Savvy Home for Mocha 🐾 Mocha is a 4-year-old, spayed Golden Retriever looking for a dog-savvy, furever family to help her thrive. Mocha needs a structured, predictable environment. She is learning appropriate play and enjoys well-managed, positive canine interactions, but she needs thoughtful introductions. Mocha bonds to people first. Once she builds trust with her people, she can slowly begin to bond to another dog(s). Mocha has resource guarding behaviors with her favorite toys and dog bed, so she needs a family who understands management, boundaries, and proactive handling around valued items. This sweet girl is the a mix of active and chill … she enjoys adventures (in the neighborhood and/or exploring the world) as much as napping and cuddling. Mocha’s ideal home: 💛 Dog-savvy home experienced with structure, routine, and management 💛 Comfortable managing resource guarding 💛 Reasonably active lifestyle with time for exercise and enrichment 💛 Committed to ongoing obedience training (for socialization, bonding, and to grow her confidence) 💛 Only dog or chill confident dog(s) 💛 Respectful children 12+ 💛 No cats Mocha is a loving, loyal companion who will truly shine in the right environment. With stability and clear guidance, she’ll reward her people with endless affection and golden-girl love. 💛

Story
FOSTER HOME NEEDED IN WISCONSIN ONLY: I’m super friendly, snuggly, and I LOVE getting pets and cuddles—but I’m also full of energy and love to play! Walks, fetch, snow adventures—you name it, I’m in. I do have a mischievous side… I’m a certified counter surfer and a bit of a toy and clothing thief. I love collecting my treasures and taking them to my bed, so I’m looking for a home with children over 12 who can help me learn boundaries and keep my “treasure hunting” in check. I’m great with other dogs and love saying hi and playing whenever I get the chance. I haven’t lived with a dog full-time yet, but I get along with everyone I meet and would love a furry friend to run and play with. I’m looking for a family that can keep up with my energy, enjoy fun adventures, and still have plenty of time for snuggles and quiet moments. I promise, I’ll give you all my love in return!

Story
Meet Mia (pronounced Mya)! Mia is a sweet, smart 10-month-old spayed female Golden Retriever/herding mix with a bright, curious spirit. She has classic Golden charm paired with the intelligence and drive of herding breeds. Mia does well with other dogs and loves romping and playing with the resident dog in her foster home. She can be a little shy at first, but she warms up quickly and bonds fast. Because she has shown some herding instincts, she would do best in a home with children 12 years and older. She is doing well with crate training and is still working on house training, so she’ll need supervision and consistency as she continues to learn. Like many young dogs, Mia must be watched closely so she doesn’t chew on things she shouldn’t. Mia is medium to high energy and thrives when she stays busy and engaged. She loves going on walks, enjoys sniffing and exploring her neighborhood, and would be an excellent candidate for agility or dog sports. She’s very smart and eager to learn—she picked up sit, down, and stay in just a few days! As Mia continues to settle into foster care, her personality shines more each day. She’s proving to be a fun, intelligent, and athletic young dog with tons of potential, ready for an active home that can provide structure, exercise, and mental stimulation.
