Story
All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Records are sent via email. Paper versions are available upon request. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile above. After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!

Story
Meet Lucille, a 50 pound 2 year old Doodle who came to us when her senior owner moved into the nursing home.  Her foster family said she is shy and reserved, but a very gentle dog.  Once she feels safe, she is affectionate,  loves playing with toys and is especially excited when she has a sock to toss around. Lucille's favorite things are going for walks and hanging out in the yard.  Lucille is crate trained.  She gets along well with both small and large dogs. Lucille is looking for a family with the patience she needs to build trust. Quick movements could startle her, so we are looking for a family without smaller children.  She would also benefit from having another dog in the home to give her confidence.  Lucille does get carsick if going on a ride longer than 20-30 minutes, so a family that doesn't plan to travel distances with her would work best for this sweet girl.  Lucille's minimum adoption fee is $200 plus a $15 rabies registration fee for McLean County residents. If she's adopted with Ethel, their combined adoption fee is $300, plus $15 per dog for rabies registration in McLean County. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
We adopted Arlo last July, he was the last puppy that needed to be adopted at a petco event. He was so cute and all white we fell in love. We wanted another dog for our older dog to help train and grow with. He is 10 months old. He is super good with other dogs and just loves to play. We hope to find someone who has another dog he can be with and a huge yard to play in. He is so cuddly and good with kids. He definitely needs a job to do or good long walks if he doesn’t have another dog to be with. Unfortunately our living situation had changed and we have found no one to help take care of him during this change. We hope to find him his forever home!
