Story
Greetings, loyal subjects. Allow me to introduce myself properly. My name is Sir Duke. Now, I should mention that when I first arrived at rescue, there was some discussion about calling me Angus. A fine name, certainly. But after spending approximately three minutes in my presence, everyone agreed it simply wouldn't do. They said I was far too handsome, far too majestic, and far too distinguished for an ordinary name. And so, I was officially knighted as Sir Duke. I do believe they made the correct decision. Earlier this year, my story wasn't nearly so grand. I was left behind by people who weren't taking care of me. Without going into all the unpleasant details, let's just say I was in rough shape. I had clearly missed out on a lot of the love and care every dog deserves. Then something wonderful happened. I landed in a foster home. For perhaps the first time in my life, people started showing me what it feels like to be truly loved. They gave me a soft place to rest, kind hands to pet me, and patience while I learned that humans could actually be trusted. Every day, I'm discovering new things that make life pretty amazing. For example, sleeping at the foot of the bed is absolutely delightful. Dog pillows? A magnificent invention. Being told I'm handsome several times a day? I highly recommend it. But if there is one thing you should know about me, it is this: I love balls. Not just a little. Not even a lot. I LOVE balls. In fact, if I'm carrying one around and you offer me the most delicious treat in the world, there's a very good chance I'll politely decline. Why trade perfection for a snack? When I've got a ball, life is already pretty close to perfect. My foster family also likes to brag about my manners. One evening, my foster mom was eating enchiladas. Not only were they delicious-smelling enchiladas, they were sitting at exactly nose level. The temptation was tremendous. Did I steal one? I did not. Did I even try? Also no. I simply walked by like the gentleman I am while everyone stared at me in amazement. Personally, I thought that was standard knightly behavior. I also enjoy car rides and make an excellent passenger. Whether we're headed across town or out on an adventure, I'm always ready to ride. On walks, I carry myself with the grace and dignity expected of someone with a title. My leash manners are excellent, and I enjoy taking in the sights while staying right by your side. The people who know me best say that while I'm a beautiful dog on the outside, it's my spirit that makes me special. Beneath all this handsome good looks and royal charm is a gentle soul who simply wants to be loved. I've spent enough of my life wondering if anyone cared about me. Now I'm ready for a family who will never leave me questioning that again. I hope you will ask to meet me. Respectfully yours, Sir Duke

Story
Chewbacca (Chewie) is such a sweet dog. He is 7 years old (Birthday is in December) and weighs about 80lbs. His dad was a Goldendoodle and mom was a Lab mix. We have had him since he was 8 weeks old. However, recently I have developed a significant allergy with him. He has been an only dog most of his life but gets along well with other dogs. He is kennel trained and walks on a leash well. He loves to be outside. He loves attention and would do well in a home with kids to play with or with just adults. He is very calm when it is adults only but will liven up and get excited with kids. It is very upsetting to have to rehome Chewie, as he is part of my family. However, I would love to see him go to a family who will love on him and give him the attention he deserves. Chewie lives up to his name and is a heavy chewer. He chews on hard plastic and Kong chews. He also has a Kong bed.

Story
Hi there! My name is Goose! My mama belonged to a family whose dog unexpectedly had puppies. Mom was a doodle mix, and my dad was a big, handsome white Labrador Retriever. If you’ve seen my pictures, you’ll notice I definitely take after Dad. Right now, I’m living with an awesome foster family. My foster dad is a pastor, and he, his wife, and their kids have been teaching me all about how to be the best family dog possible. One of my favorite things in the world is greeting my people when they come home. I keep a bucket of chew toys right by the front door, and every time I see someone from my family pull up, I watch from the window and bark to let everyone know, “You’re home!” Then I jump off the couch, run to my toy bucket, and pick out a chew toy before racing to the door to welcome them. I have a pretty important expectation, too: once you’re inside, you’re supposed to take my toy and play a quick game of fetch with me! Sometimes, instead of fetch, I’ll roll right over onto my back—with my toy still in my mouth—and ask for belly rubs. I absolutely LOVE belly rubs. Now let’s talk about my favorite thing in the entire world: water. Seriously, if there’s water, I want to be in it. Ponds? Yes. Lakes? Absolutely. Pools? Count me in. Sprinklers? Fantastic. Decorative fountains? Well… apparently those aren’t always intended for dogs, but on a really hot day during my photo shoot, I decided one looked too inviting to pass up. It was glorious. My second favorite thing is fetch. If you combine fetch and water, you’ve basically created heaven as far as I’m concerned. I’m also a huge fan of car rides. Most dogs like sticking their heads out the window, and I do too, but I’ve discovered something almost as good. Sometimes I stick my nose right in front of the air-conditioning vent and enjoy the amazing smells floating through the car. I’m also a pretty patient guy. In fact, I’ve been known to sit completely still while my 13-year-old human brushes me. Now, I should probably tell you about my relationship with duck. My foster family is pretty strict about manners. We don’t beg at the dinner table in this house, and I’m pretty good at being polite. Sometimes, when my foster dad has a successful hunting trip, I get a little taste of the good things. That’s when I discovered that I may have a very refined palate. You could even say I’m a duck connoisseur, even if it is raw. Unfortunately, my appreciation for fine dining once got me into a little trouble. You see, my foster dad was preparing dinner one day and had 20 duck breasts sitting on the counter. Twenty. He stepped away for just a little while and forgot to push them back far enough. When he returned, there were only three left. I now understand that counters are not self-serve buffets. I’ve been working on my manners ever since. What I’m really looking for now is a forever family of my very own—a family that will love me, laugh at my goofy stories, throw a ball for me, and maybe share a little duck every now and then and give me opportunities to swim or not mind if I take on a big puddle. Hope you will ask to meet me! ~Goose~
