This handsome guy is Toki. He was born on 11/23/19 and is a lovely Goldendoodle (mom a Standard Poodle and Dad an English Golden Retriever). He loves kids and enjoys playing with other dogs his size. When he came to the shelter, he was happy to show off his moves (sit, paw). His original owner who had him since a puppy unfortunately had to move, and the person that had him afterwards said he behaved excellently, never had an accident inside, and he enjoyed sleeping on his dog bed. They just never intended on keeping him long term, and wanted him to have his forever home for the perfect family. Toki seems like a gentleman and any family would be lucky to have him. Maui is a beautiful, sweet, and silly 100lb Double Doodle (her wisdom panel shows 45% Labrador Retriever, 32% Golden Retriever, 22% Poodle, and 1% Flat-Coated Retriever). Maui sleeps in her kennel at night and is great around other dogs of all sizes once proper introductions are done. She adores cats in her current foster home. She has decent leash manners and enjoys going on walks. Maui also has already had an incisional gastropexy, so no future risks of GDV, or “bloat”. We go through a multi-step process for our dogs that includes meeting at the fosters home, a home inspection, and reference checks.

I’m a 20 year old college student, and I’ve had Apollo for around three years. I used to live on a farm with my family, and at the time we had two dogs, to protect the house and each other when they went around the farm. We moved to a suburban neighborhood shortly after, with both dogs. His older brother doesn’t have much time left, and can’t play as much or run around, and if they do it’s confined to a backyard. With me in college now and my mother works and commutes, I just know in my heart he deserves better. I don’t want to get rid of him, but it’s for the best. We need to start bringing the older dog inside more and letting him sort of age gracefully now, but constantly feel horrible about keeping Apollo outside. I know there are options such as training but after taking him to be free range and not having the time or money to pay for training, this is the best I can do for my dog right now. He’s an amazing dog, never has ever bitten even another dog let alone a human, just loves.
