Story
Cody is from the Amish in middle of Michigan. Putting him for adoption as I’m living with roommates, studying, and working full time. Dad who watched him along with my mom passed away and my mother isn’t able to give him the care alone he needs as she uses a walker now. Cody is a good dog who loves car rides, chasing squirrels in the backyard, doesn’t bark unless someone knocks at the door, is tough to walk at times as he isn’t fully trained in not pulling, isn’t much of a cuddler but likes to lay on his own nearby you. Not the biggest fan of playing catch but will run around a dog park although he is a bit scared of dogs sometimes but not in an aggressive way. He will steal your food if you leave it out. He manages eating his food at his own pace so we always leave the bowl full and he maintains a healthy weight. Never had any bad habits like chewing furniture but when left alone for more than 9-10 hours and sadly he has a couple times he will chew up tv remotes or scratch the door.

Story
Meet Kelce! Age: 9 MonthsWeight: 38 lbs (and still growing!)Breed: Goldendoodle or Wheaten Terrier Mix (best guess) If you're looking for a fun-loving, goofy companion with a heart of gold, Kelce may be your perfect match! This handsome young fella was found as a stray in Detroit and, unfortunately, was never reclaimed. While his past remains a mystery, one thing is certain—Kelce is ready to find a family of his very own. At just 9 months old, Kelce is all puppy. He's happy, social, affectionate, and absolutely loves attention from his people. There isn't a mean bone in this boy's body. He approaches life with enthusiasm and excitement, which means he's still learning that not everyone appreciates a flying puppy greeting! Like many adolescents, Kelce is working on his manners and will need a confident, consistent family willing to continue teaching him appropriate behavior and helping him become the best version of himself. Kelce enjoys roughhousing and playing with other dogs that can match his energy level and playful style. Toys are one of his favorite things, and he is always ready for the next game or adventure. He has demonstrated a good understanding of house manners once he settled into the routine of his foster home, proving that structure and consistency go a long way with this smart young boy. Because of his size, enthusiasm, and youthful energy, Kelce would do best with older, dog-savvy children. While he adores people of all ages, his excitement and tendency to jump when happy may be a bit too much for younger children or toddlers. Crates are not Kelce's favorite invention, and he isn't shy about sharing his opinion. He will happily vocalize his displeasure when crated, so apartment, condo, or mobile home living would not be a good fit for him. He's also working on leash manners, though his adolescent brain can sometimes make it difficult for him to stay focused on the task at hand. Continued training, patience, and positive reinforcement will be important as he matures. Kelce is seeking an active family that understands puppies don't magically grow into well-mannered adult dogs—they become great companions through guidance, training, and commitment. A physical fenced yard would be ideal, giving him a safe place to run, play, and burn off some of that youthful energy. He is not a good candidate for a tether or invisible fence. If you're ready to invest the time and energy into a wonderful young dog who will reward you with endless love, laughter, and companionship, Kelce is ready to meet you. He's looking for a family that will love him, guide him, and cherish him furever. Kelce is:Current on Bordetella, Distemper, and RabiesDewormedHeartworm Tested: NegativeReceiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedNeuteredADOPTION FEE: $300 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry. Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal’s temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different. While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program. Story
Meet Dottie McDoodle! With a name like Dottie McDoodle, you already know life is going to be a little more fun! Born on April 28, 2026, Dottie is an adorable blend of Dalmatian and Goldendoodle, combining the playful spirit of both breeds into one lovable puppy package. She and her littermates were surrendered when their owner was unable to successfully find homes for them, and now she's ready to find the forever family she truly deserves. Like any young puppy, Dottie is sweet, social, curious, and always ready for her next adventure. She is looking for an active family that is excited about all the fun—and all the responsibility—that comes with raising a puppy. She'll need someone who is home more often than not during these important early months to help with house training, socialization, and establishing a consistent routine that will set her up for success. Dottie enjoys the company of other dogs that appreciate puppy antics and playful energy. Because she's still learning appropriate manners, she would not be a good match for a senior canine companion who prefers a quieter lifestyle. She has also met a cat without any concerns. As expected with any puppy, Dottie is still discovering the world one chew toy (and sometimes one shoe!) at a time. She'll need a family that understands puppies explore with their mouths and is prepared for teething, chewing, occasional accidents, zoomies, and all the other adorable challenges that come with puppyhood. Patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement will help her grow into a wonderful lifelong companion. If you're ready to invest the time, training, and love that every puppy deserves, Dottie McDoodle will reward you with years of laughter, adventures, and unconditional love. Dottie isn't just looking for a home—she's looking for a family to love her furever. Could that be you? Dottie can go home with you but will remain in foster-to-adopt status until the sterilization surgery has been completed at 6 months of age at one of our partner veterinary offices (Chesterfield, Clawson, Clinton Twp, or Rochester), which is included in the adoption fee and is non-negotiable. We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 100-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.-Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.
