Story
Hamilton Goldendoodle mini Male Red 12 months old 29lbs Meet Hamilton: Hamilton is looking for a very specific, stable, and experienced home after being adopted out by another shelter several times. He is a sweet, sensitive dog who can be fearful at first and needs time, patience, and consistency to feel safe. Hamilton thrives in calm, quiet environments and becomes overwhelmed in busy or noisy homes, so he is seeking a low-activity household with a fenced yard (no apartments), a female-only home (he is currently fearful of men), and an experienced adopter who is home often and able to provide structure and routine. He requires close supervision, a puppy-proofed space, and cannot be crated or placed in a playpen (baby gates work well). Like a young puppy, he is still learning appropriate chewing habits and may target items like socks, shoes, or remotes. Hamilton also needs a consistent potty routine and multiple short daily walks, as he often prefers to go #2 on walks, even with yard access. These walks are essential for both training and mental enrichment. When he feels safe and his needs are met, Hamilton is a loving cuddle bug, loyal companion, and wonderful walking partner who bonds deeply with his person and does well with calm dogs. Please Note: **No children under 10!** If you are interested in adopting HAMILTON, please visit our website at www.somersetcottagepoodlerescue.org to learn about our adoption process and download the adoption application HAMILTON's adoption donation is $995

Story
Hi, I’m Winnie. My life hasn’t always been easy, but I’m still here… and I’m hoping my forever family is out there. Before I came to AHOTO, I was used for breeding and then dumped when I was no longer wanted. When I first arrived, I was scared and unsure about the world around me. Kind people helped me heal and slowly showed me that life could be different. With patience and care, I started to feel safe. Not long after that, I was adopted. Everyone hoped I had finally found my happy ending. But just one month later, while staying with a dog sitter, I got scared and escaped. For 10 long weeks, I was out on my own. I crossed big roads, survived freezing temperatures, and stayed hidden because I was too scared to let people get close. Lots of people searched for me and never gave up. In the end, it was another dog who helped save me. Her name is Phoebe, and she came from the very same breeding facility as me. Being near her made me feel safe and because of Phoebe, I finally let the rescuers bring me to safety. Phoebe has now found her forever home… and now it’s my turn. I’m an incredibly sweet and gentle girl! The thing that helps me most in the world is other dogs. I look to them for confidence, comfort, and guidance. Having a calm and confident dog friend helps me understand that everything is okay. Because of everything I’ve been through, I’m looking for a very special home where I can continue to feel safe and loved. My perfect home would have: At least one confident, friendly dog to be my buddy and help guide me Very dog-savvy humans who understand shy or sensitive dogs A quiet, calm household with a steady routine No young children because I’m scared of little kids People who will take all necessary precautions so that I am never lost again. A big backyard with a tall and secure fence would be a bonus!  I’ve been through a lot in my life, but I still have so much love to give. With the right family, I know I can keep growing braver every day. If you have a calm home, a kind heart, and a dog who could be my best friend, I would love to meet you. Maybe my forever story starts with you. ##2552422##

Story
Hi there! My name is Iris, and I am a 4 ½-year-old Golden Doodle with a heart as warm as my soft, camel-colored coat. I’m a retired breeding female, which means I’m finally ready to focus all my love and attention on a forever family of my very own! I’m what you might call a "professional sweetheart." My favorite things include wagging my tail, meeting new people, and showing everyone my gentle, friendly temperament. I weigh 47 lbs, which I think is the perfect size for long walks or cozying up on a rug near you. I have beautiful brown eyes that I’ll use to look at you with nothing but love! I’m also a very good neighbor. I get along great with other dogs and generally think life is just better when everyone is being nice. I’m already spayed, fully vaccinated, and ready to start my next chapter. If you’re looking for a "just plain nice" girl to add some sunshine to your home, I’m your lady! ##2700999##
