Story
Hi, I’m Winnie. My life hasn’t always been easy, but I’m still here… and I’m hoping my forever family is out there. Before I came to AHOTO, I was used for breeding and then dumped when I was no longer wanted. When I first arrived, I was scared and unsure about the world around me. Kind people helped me heal and slowly showed me that life could be different. With patience and care, I started to feel safe. Not long after that, I was adopted. Everyone hoped I had finally found my happy ending. But just one month later, while staying with a dog sitter, I got scared and escaped. For 10 long weeks, I was out on my own. I crossed big roads, survived freezing temperatures, and stayed hidden because I was too scared to let people get close. Lots of people searched for me and never gave up. In the end, it was another dog who helped save me. Her name is Phoebe, and she came from the very same breeding facility as me. Being near her made me feel safe and because of Phoebe, I finally let the rescuers bring me to safety. Phoebe has now found her forever home… and now it’s my turn. I’m an incredibly sweet and gentle girl! The thing that helps me most in the world is other dogs. I look to them for confidence, comfort, and guidance. Having a calm and confident dog friend helps me understand that everything is okay. Because of everything I’ve been through, I’m looking for a very special home where I can continue to feel safe and loved. My perfect home would have: At least one confident, friendly dog to be my buddy and help guide me Very dog-savvy humans who understand shy or sensitive dogs A quiet, calm household with a steady routine No young children because I’m scared of little kids People who will take all necessary precautions so that I am never lost again. A big backyard with a tall and secure fence would be a bonus!  I’ve been through a lot in my life, but I still have so much love to give. With the right family, I know I can keep growing braver every day. If you have a calm home, a kind heart, and a dog who could be my best friend, I would love to meet you. Maybe my forever story starts with you. ##2552422##

Story
Goldendoodle Male Red 12 months old 60 lbs Meet Milo: Milo has brought our family tremendous joy with his calm, loving personality. He quickly blended in with our two-year-old poodle and teenagers, proving to be a wonderful companion for everyone. Milo loves greeting people and happily keeps his humans within eyesight throughout the day and night. He is house-trained and sleeps well in his bed through the night. When Milo first came to us, he had been neglected and was malnourished. In a short time, he regained strength and energy, revealing a playful spirit and gentle nature. He greets both people and dogs warmly, though he’s still learning leash manners and can pull in his excitement to explore and make up for lost time. At first, Milo struggled with stairs and longer walks, but he has made great progress and grows stronger each day. Milo is very food motivated and has already mastered “sit” and is working on “stay.” He enjoys supervising in the kitchen when food is being prepared, but never behaves aggressively or tries to take food that isn’t offered. Because of his past experiences, Milo becomes anxious when crated. In our home,e he has had free range and has done very well, so we recommend a home that avoids crating when possible. Milo is a quiet, gentle dog who rarely barks and has never shown aggression. Like many dogs of his breed, he may experience some separation anxiety when his bonded humans leave, but he is a loving and devoted companion. Milo is truly a wonderful dog and will make a fantastic addition to the right family. Please Note: **No children under 10!** If you are interested in adopting MILO, please visit our website at www.somersetcottagepoodlerescue.org to learn about our adoption process and download the adoption application MILO's adoption donation is $1195

Story
For the short time I’ve been Sadie she loves long walks and cuddles. She loves attention and is family friendly. She takes time for her to get used to you and surroundings. She loves the outdoors. Sadie is very friendly and loves attention. She doesn’t like to be left alone too much. She’s not fully house trained and she’s not crate trained. She loves long walks and kids. She doesn’t like to sleep alone. I’m not sure if she has had any shots and she does require grooming. She won’t let anyone untangle her tail hair. She does jump up on everyone. She is trainable. She’s a midsize adult dog.

Story
Sonic is gonna be missed truly. I really don’t want to part ways with Sonic but I just don’t think being a pet owner is for me anymore right now, unfortunately. I no longer have the time with me starting a new job that no longer is work from home. Sonic is crate trained. He also uses the bathroom outside as long as he is frequently taken out. I never really walked him much because we have a relatively large yard and he likes to run and is very active! He loves cuddles and belly rubs. He is also very smart. I’m looking for some one who can for sure dedicate more time to Sonic and help him meet all of his needs. He’s such a good boy and you can’t help but love him.

Story
Bonnie-PoodleXfemale DOB 12-31-23 (Feb. 2026) Harlequin Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for an application Bonnie came to Rescue through a Prison Training Program. She's been taking classes every day and doing quite well. She's crate trained, has obedience training, husbandry and grooming skills. As she's been in a Prison, we do not know about children or cats yet, but she will be tested when moved to her foster home. If you want to know about the Dalmadoodle... A Dalmadoodle is a cross between a purebred Dalmatian and a purebred Standard Poodle. This pairing is intentional, not accidental, and is designed to balance: The Dalmatian’s loyalty, athleticism, and alert nature The Standard Poodle’s intelligence, trainability, and often low-shedding coat The result is a dog that is smart, people-focused, active, and deeply bonded to its family. Temperament is one of the biggest reasons families are drawn to Dalmadoodles. They are: Affectionate and people-oriented Intelligent and eager to learn Loyal to their family Alert without being aggressive Playful, but capable of settling with proper routine Dalmadoodles tend to form strong bonds with their owners and do best in homes where they are included in daily life. This is not a breed that thrives when left alone for long periods with little interaction. Because of their intelligence, they do especially well with owners who enjoy training, structure, and engagement. Bonnie's adoption fee is $600 to help cover the medical costs of getting her ready for adoption. Story
Cal-Poodle male, ~ 1-2 yr. (Dec. 2025) Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for an application. Cal came to Rescue when his prior owner called for help. They are traveling a lot for work and just felt it was in Cal's best interest to have a home where he wouldn't be alone so much. He's a beauty, with a friendly disposition and a lot of love to give. Cal is about 65-70# and is probably fully grown. Poodles can be very good family dogs due to their intelligence, affectionate nature, and loyalty. Cal is used to living in a family setting with adults. Poodles are highly trainable and generally get along well with children and other pets when properly socialized. He has lived with other dogs, with no problems, although will enjoy getting to see more of the world with a new family. He requires a fair amount of mental and physical exercise, consistent grooming, and will thrive when he is included in family life rather than being left alone for long periods. Cal's adoption fee is $600 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption. For our application, please email rescuebc@hotmail.com Include your location and a phone number for future communication.
