Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hello, hello! My name is Zeus! ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I am, quite possibly, the handsomest boy ever! HOW OLD ARE YOU? We estimate that I was born in late 2020/early 2021. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am a Great Dane! HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I am a svelte and stunning 130 pounds. WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I am tall and picturesque, with long legs and a beautiful silky, grey coat with white markings on my feet, belly, and neck. Some might say my eyes are my best feature. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I eat the lamb Taste of the Wild dog food. As a special treat, I love hot dogs. And, if you are so inclined to expand the available options for treats, I would certainly not turn you down! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I look much more serious than I am. I am gentle giant and a lap dog at heart. Making you laugh every day is my goal! DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: I am happiest wherever my human is. I’m easy to please—just a walk, chasing a ball in the yard, and snuggling on the couch sounds perfect to me! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? Anything soft with a squeaker. Those are the MOST fun! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I know sit, come, and lay down. I like to be in my dog bed, so I have perfected the trick of going there if you tell me. WHAT SCARES YOU? I am really not a fan of being left alone and loud noises. I have some separation anxiety that could improve over time as I get more comfortable and with training. But, for now, I ask that you are patient with me. I just want to be with you! HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? I have met lots of kids, and I have done great! I am very gentle, but do not fully grasp how big I am, so I would probably do best in a home with older children. DO YOU LIKE CATS? I haven’t met any. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I love them! My foster sister is the one in charge and I always listen to her. I get to snuggle with her when she lets me and we love to play chase in the yard. IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Oh that’s easy… I would love to be on the couch with my people. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I am in excellent heath! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom and dad and dog foster sister, who is a cattle dog mix. I love my foster dad best, but I’ve never met a person I didn’t like. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I am in my crate while I learn to not be so anxious by myself. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep in my crate. I don’t love going in there at night, but I am a good boy, so I follow instructions. I have also slept on a bed on the floor of my foster parents’ room a few times. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? Yes, I love going for walks! I’m still working on leash manners and do a lot of bumping into my humans because there is so much to smell and the world is so exciting! DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? I don’t want to be left alone, so I bark when the humans leave and I have to go in my crate. Maybe you and I can work on this together? ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? Heck yeah! I’ve had no accidents in the house. Just show me where to go and I’m on it! DO YOU LIKE WATER? I have had a few baths and will get in the tub when asked. I don’t like it, but I wait patiently until it’s done and then get the zoomies. I also waded into a creek once on a walk… that was pretty fun! WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I love that I can cuddle with them on the couch! Human contact (i.e., lots of cuddles and pets) is the best part of my day. I also like that someone from my house is usually working from home, so I have some company. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOUR FUTURE ADOPTER? I am so excited for what lies ahead for me. Perhaps you and I can explore what the future would look like together? I can’t wait to spend forever with you! **ZEUS’S ADOPTION FEE IS $400** If you are interested in adopting Zeus, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas (which means Sacramento County, parts of El Dorado County and parts of Placer County).
