Marley is a great dog with lots of energy he loves to go on walks or hikes. He plays well with other dogs at the dog park. I’ve recently gotten a new job and it doesn’t afford me the time to be a good owner to him.

Story
NAME:MaxxSTATS:Male, Dane Corso/ Mastiff Mix, 1.5 years, 115 lbs.TEMPERAMENT:Shy at first and warms up.Needs seasoned owner to work with issues (see below).Moderately ActiveInitially was told he was fearful of men, which seems to be he just needs slow introductions to new people where he can approach them at his own pace. Warms up quickly to men and women as long as it is done slowly and at his pace. Initially weary of strangers. SKILLSPotty trained.Crate trained.Older children in a savvy home only (12+)Has not been exposed to cats.Has not been exposed to other dogs and ideally looking to place as an only dog at this time.MORE ABOUT ME:Likes belly rubs.Needs patient proactive owner willing to work on behavior (see details below).Signing up for basic training will be a requirement to adopt. EXPERIENCED/large breed savvy owners required.ONE LAST THING:Maxx is a supersized puppy with lots of attention and love to give to the right family. He is goofy and loves to play, especially with an appropriately sized toy like his JUMBO Jolly-Ball. He loves treats and while he is a little on the shy side at first with new people, he warms up quickly as long as it is done at his pace. After the initial warm up phase, his true personality comes out. There is a playful side to him as well as a lazy lay at your feet side, although sometimes he may mistakenly lay on your feet in his attempt to cuddle :).Maxx initially had negative reactions when it came to strangers and pretty much everything new to him (including swaying palm trees). With reassurance, positive reinforcement in the form of treats, and looking to his handler for a confidence boost, his triggers have lost power. He will need continued socialization, desensitization, and training. With the right forever home, Maxx will continue to improve. He picks up on things very quickly and is very treat and toy motivated. He does need someone who will be patient with him, but also serve as someone who he can turn to for confidence and stability when he is unsure or frightened of something new for reassurance. Story
Meet Slate, your 15-month-old cuddle bug! Weighing in at 70 lbs, the smallest great Dane ever! Slate's energy level is low, making her the perfect snuggle buddy. Although she may be shy at first, Slate is incredibly affectionate once she warms up to you.  She's a pro at car rides and vet visits, and her favorite pastime? Curling up in any available chair. Slate's number one favorite thing is her person, closely followed by food or treats. With mild verbal corrections and a food-motivated drive, Slate is mastering commands like sit, down, and house (going into her crate). Currently working on stay, recall, and drop it, Slate is eager to learn and become the perfect companion for a family! She is dog friendly and would love fur siblings. ##2009369##

Story
Seamus (shay-mus) is a one-of-a-kind blockhead who is ready to give his heart to the right person or family. He is in a foster home with lots of dogs and does well with everyone. He’s shown that he is super smart, friendly, playful, emotionally in-tune with his human friends, and a supreme cuddle bug. Seamus is crate-trained, knows basic commands, and walks nicely on-leash. He can be excitable in the way he wants to give all his love at once, but is learning to control his impulses as he continues to decompress in his new structured environment. Seamus is 6 years old, 70ish pounds and healthy. California Pit bull Rescue is an official 501(c)(3) and requires an adoption application and $200 donation fee for all adoptions.April 26, 2024, 10:15 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Marley is a big, handsome hunk, and a fairly easy going and confident companion. He is a genuinely medium energy dog. He loves going out for a walk or an adventure, even a gentle jog, but he doesn't need hours or miles to wear him out. He's very happy with a trip to a restaurant (snacks?!) or a bar, or a gentle stroll and a picnic on the beach. A mellow lifestyle suits this gentle giant just fine. He loves to cuddle and nap on the couch, and hang out with his humans, but when you need to leave him he's relaxed and happy in a crate, though he doesn't need one. He uses a dog door. He's fully house trained, a total couch potato, great in the car, and walks well most of the time on leash. He does have a strong prey drive, so not a good fit for families with cats. When he sees a squirrel, or a dog he really wants to say hi to, he can really pull. And, since he weighs 95lb, he is very strong indeed! Marley can have dominance issues if he feels challenged by another male - or they don't want to play with him and try to correct him. He has gone on pack walks and been great!! Marley does need to be desensitized around bicycles, he has had a bite incident with someone on a bike riding past. So that is a consideration and so, he may be better suited to a more rural environment and likely as an only dog or with a submissive female. Older kids (no bikes) would be okay too. Fosters say Marley is a "love bug, been trained to sit, down, off, up stay, shake, working on hold, drop, heel release command is 'free.'" He is best suited for life with adults as only pet. He can be left alone. He has moderate activity level needing at least one good walk or jog per day.

Story
Reina was rehomed to us in early December. She was malnourished, uncared for and had behavioral issues. We were told she was trained, great with kids, other dogs and cats and healthy. She was not healthy, full of infections, not up to date on her vaccines and she has severe issues with resource guarding. We sent her to KORU K 9 for 5 weeks. She bit my daughter twice, and my husband once requiring stitches. She just came back from school and resource guarded food and bit my husband again. She is a very sweet girl who was unfortunately abused and we were not given the entire story. 8,000.00 later it is still unsafe for my 6 year old to have Reina with us. We have to re home her as soon as possible, or we will have to put her down.
