Story
Looking for a massive dose of love in a calm, easygoing package? Meet Samson! At just one year old, Samson is already a master of relaxation. While many young dogs are high energy, Samson prefers the quiet life. Samson is incredibly gentle and shares his space wonderfully with other dogs, children and feline friends. He goes with the flow and adapts easily to daily routines. Samson is an exceptionally well behaved boy inside the house and private yard. On walks, he is still learning his size and needs a handler who will continue practicing his leash manners. Samson is truly a special boy who just wants a couch big enough to share and a family to shower with affection. Due to a growing family and already limited space in our small home, we are heartbroken to have to rehome our sweet boy. We really just want the best for our big pup. His perfect match would be someone who understands the great dane breed, has the physical space for a giant dog, and has plenty of love to give.

Story
Guinness is a handsome, big-hearted boy who is searching for a very special home where he can take his time getting comfortable, build a strong bond, and become your loyal companion. Guinness is the kind of dog who truly values his people. Once he forms that special connection, he loves being by their side and enjoying life together. He especially enjoys going for walks, exploring, and spending quality time with the humans he trusts. Guinness would do best in a quiet, peaceful home with minimal strangers coming and going. He needs a little time to adjust to new people and surroundings, so a single-person household or a couple would be ideal. He isn't looking for a busy social calendar—he's looking for his people and a place where he can feel safe and secure. A country or rural setting would be wonderful for Guinness. He would love having a home where he can settle into a routine, enjoy the outdoors, and feel like he has an important job looking after his home and family. If you're looking for a loyal companion who wants to form a deep bond with his person, Guinness may be the perfect match. Give him the time to trust you, and you'll have a beautiful boy who will be happy to share his adventures, walks, and everyday life with you. Please call 707-459-4900 for more information or to schedule an appointment to come meet Guinness!

Story
Meet Cody! Cody is a big, lovable goofball with a heart full of love and a personality that will keep you smiling. This handsome young boy is ready to find his forever home and a family to call his own. He is already potty trained and happily settles in his crate for a nap or overnight. He's not bothered by lots of noise and could adapt well to a busy household, he loves spending time with people. He's relaxed on walks, happy to pass by other dogs without a fuss. He does have an interest in squirrels, so would benefit from a strong handler and awareness of his prey drive. For this reason, he would probably be best suited to a home without cats. He's currently in a foster home with 11 and 13 year old human siblings, and he's enjoying the family life. Cody bonds very strongly with his family and has shown resource guarding behaviors towards other dogs in the home (he will "protect" his people). For that reason, he'd be best suited to life as a solo dog at home, but can definitely have dog friends at the park or out on walks. With an experienced owner and ongoing training, he could definitely live with another dog (and he has done in foster). Cody is eager to learn, so his ideal home would continue his training with patience and consistency as he grows into the amazing companion he is meant to be. If you're looking for a fun-loving, affectionate dog who will bring joy, laughter, and unconditional love into your life, Cody could be the perfect match for you. Apply today to meet him!

Story
Ethan Allen supplies nothing but the finest furniture, and this gorgeous Great Dane does not disappoint! Probably one of the biggest doggos we’ve seen at Muttville, Ethan is more of a stately armoire than bedside table, but he’s proof that any dog can be a lapdog if you have the mind to. Be careful, because this distinguished gent might be bigger than you, but if he fits (well, even if he doesn’t), he sits. Ethan is a slow and steady wins the race kind of guy who has lost some of the agility of his youth, but what he hasn’t lost is his fondness for chicken and his even larger than life heart. Nothing compares to a hug from Ethan Allen – he’s simply the best!

Story
Old Soul, Happy HeartMeet Harry—a distinguished senior gentleman who`s reached the wonderful stage of life where he knows exactly what he likes...and isn`t afraid to ask for it.And what does Harry like? Booty scratches. Lots of them.Sure, he`ll happily greet you with kisses, but don`t be fooled—that`s just the opening act. Before long, he`ll expertly back that adorable rump right up to you, convinced your hands have a very important job to do. He`ll lean against the wall, sit beside you (or occasionally on you), and politely—but persistently—request that the scratching continue indefinitely.Harry is an easy walker, appears to be potty trained, and takes treats with gentlemanly manners. He`ll let you know when someone stops by, then likely return to his regularly scheduled booty-rub appointment.Senior dogs have a wonderful honesty about them. Harry isn`t interested in playing hard to get or pretending he wants something else. He`s spent enough years figuring life out to know exactly what makes him happy: kind people, leisurely walks, tasty treats, and endless scratches in all the right places. If you`re looking for a loyal best friend with a wise soul, a sweet heart, and a hilarious obsession with booty rubs, Harry is ready to meet you. This handsome gent has participated in shelter playgroups and may enjoy a compatible canine friend in his new home.  Looking for a buddy for your dog?  Bring him/her to the shelter for a meet and greet and see if we`re a match!  Check out his playgroup video here:To meet me, visit the Bradshaw Animal Shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm. All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To help expedite the meet and greet process, please make note of my Animal ID number, and those of other dogs you might be interested in meeting. Be sure to bring your ID with you, too. We are located at 3839 Bradshaw Road, Sacramento. I look forward to getting to know you!
