Story
Hi, I'm Kanga! I was found with just one of my babies who we named Roo. And I made sure to be a great mom to him until he was old enough to be on his own. Now it's my turn to go home! I am extremely sweet and love people. One thing to keep in mind is that I am not great with cats or small animals. I love going on long walks and just spending quality time with my person. I'm very loyal and loving and would thrive in a home where my people can give me all the attention I deserve!

Story
This is Millie. She is a 5.5 year old pure bred Great Dane. She is harlequin in color. She weighs about 105-110. We call her the worlds smallest Great Dane, but obviously she is still big in comparison to most dogs. Her tail never stops wagging and she loves to give head nudges. She loves booty pats and ear rubs. She doesn't lick, but loves to sniff faces. She has never been aggressive towards people, however, she has become increasingly aggressive towards our other dogs. For this reason, she HAS to go to a family with no other dogs and no intentionsof getting other dogs. She sometimes chases our cats, but she never growled at them or tried to bite them. Millie needs a loving home that can shower her with attention. We are located in Lake Mary, FL.

Story
I`m Arlo, the Good Dinosaur...I mean, dog. I guess I`m kind of dinosaur-y with my long legs and gentle giant personality (I may actually have Great Dane in my mix), but I`m definitely all good! I have lived in a home before, but sadly, it wasn`t a situation I could go back to. I did live with other dogs and have been respectful in passing with the dogs I`ve come across at ACAR thus far. I do a good job keeping my kennel tidy and may have had a start on basic stuff like potty training. I`ve also been polite while walking on a leash, and I choose to spend my office time curled up at your feet, snoring away. If you want a gentle giant, I promise I`m a dino-mite choice! Ask to meet me today!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Odin — Handsome Merle Great Dane    Meet Odin — a gorgeous merle Great Dane with the sweetest personality and a huge heart to match his future size. At about 100 lbs now, this gentle giant is only 1½ years old, so he’s still growing and will likely be considerably bigger when he finishes filling out. If you’re ready to share your home (and your lap space!) with a magnificent, playful companion, Odin might be your match.  About Odin  Odin is:  A stunning merle Great Dane, ~1.5 years old Currently ~100 lbs and still growing Playful, affectionate, and good-natured Housebroken and crate trained (however cannot be left alone for hours at a time) 3-4 hours MAX. Comfortable around children — he has been around small toddlers Dog-friendly and enjoys other dogs Cat-friendly Loves baths Enjoys walks and exploring with his person FOOD ASSERTIVE with other dogs   NEEDS YOUNG  STRONG ACTIVE FAMILY TO GIVE EXERCISE AND TRAINING    Personality:  Odin is a big softie: curious, playful, and eager to make friends. He loves attention but also settles nicely when asked. He’s used to children and other animals, making him a great fit for a family or adopter prepared for a loving, giant companion.   Ideal Home: The best home for Odin would be:  A family or individual prepared for a very large, active dog Someone able to provide daily walks, consistent training, and mental stimulation A home with room for a giant-breed dog (a fenced yard is REQUIRED Households with children or other pets are possible — meet-and-greets will confirm compatibility  YOUNG ACTIVE STRONG LEADER TO EXERCISE AND TRAINING  Great Dane Care — Important Things to Know Great Danes are loving, gentle dogs, but they do come with special care needs because of their size. Anyone interested in Odin should be prepared for:    Giant-Breed Nutrition:  Great Danes need high-quality, large/giant-breed dog food to support healthy joint development. Overfeeding or improper diets can increase the risk of bone and joint problems. Meals are usually split into 2–3 smaller feedings per day to help reduce the risk of bloat.   Health Considerations:   Common Great Dane needs include:  Hip and joint support as they age Preventative care for bloat/GDV (a serious condition giant breeds are prone to) Regular vet care to monitor weight, joints, heart, and growth Danes are short-coated dogs and can be surprisingly sensitive to cold — sometimes they need a sweater in cooler weather. Exercise Requirements:  They need regular daily walks and playtime. For Odin, cannot be left alone more than 5 hours daily.  Danes are typically calm indoors once mature, but they benefit from good physical and mental activity. Avoid excessive jumping or rough play while they are still growing to protect developing joints. Space & Lifestyle:   Great Danes are indoor dogs — they thrive close to their people. They do require space to stretch out, move comfortably, and rest. Soft bedding is recommended for their joints. Personality & Social Needs:  Danes are famously known as “gentle giants.” They bond strongly with their families and want to be involved in daily life. Training and socialization are important, especially as they grow into their full size.
