Story
Richie found his way to me in August, emancipated and suffering from hair loss due to skin issues. I had him scanned for a microchip right away and he does have one. I found out that he had been adopted in March from the local animal control in AZ and he was 8 months old at that time. The registered owners never came forth. I relocated to Port Charlotte and decided to bring him along. He has returned to full health although his is susceptible to allergies. Let me tell you a little about Mr. Lionel Richie, he is probably the BEST dog I have ever had the honor of caring for! He is completely potty trained, he does not chew or destroy anything other than his toys. He does not have any anxiety issues and is ok with being put in a room if required. He gets along with other dogs and cats. Reason for rehoming, he is a high energy dog and requires walking and a lot of play! I would love to find him his forever home with an active individual(s) that a lifestyle that better aligns with him.

Story
Meet Xanax! An absolute sweet lovable girl who wants nothing more than to be with her people. She is about 1 1/2 years old. I am unable to give her the time she needs. She is fully house trained and is given free rein of the house and is not destructive. (She will take food if left out). She loves nothing more than to snuggle on the couch with you all day. She has been good with other dogs with a proper introduction. She pulls a little on the leash but is getting better everyday. She knows a few commands like sit and stay. She is eager to please and very food motivated. She has been around children 6+ and done well. She does not always her size and is clumsy. She is up to date on all shots and heartworm/flea prevention. She is not yet spayed.

Story
PLEASE READ THE ANIMAL’S PROFILE AND ALL NOTES BELOW BEFORE APPLYING! Hi there, I’m Cash Money! I’m a 2-year-old Great Dane/Doberman mix, and I’m what you might call a gentle giant. I’m a calm, quiet boy who loves to take life nice and easy — no barking, no chaos, just peaceful vibes and soft snuggles. I’m totally potty-trained, leash-trained, and house-trained (yep, I’m a good boy). I get along great with other dogs, cats, and even kids — as long as they’re chill like me. I’m not really into rough play or loud energy… I prefer cozy naps, slow walks, and quiet company. My dream home? Somewhere peaceful — maybe with a small family who enjoys staying in and relaxing. A fenced yard would be awesome so I can stretch my long legs and sniff around safely. Just a little about me: I do take medication for seizures, but don’t worry — my foster mom says they’re well controlled and I live a happy, balanced life. I just need a family who’s comfortable giving me my meds and keeping up with vet checkups. With your love and care, I promise to be your loyal, gentle best friend forever. If you’re looking for a calm, loving companion to fill your home with peace and quiet joy, I think we’d be a perfect match. Adoption FEE: $500 which includes his neuter, microchip, and vaccines. It is also a donation to go directly back to us to help us continue to rescue more animals. A Mercy Full Project (MFP) Adoption Application MUST BE COMPLETED in order for you to be considered as a potential adopter. By filling out the MFP Adoption Application you agree and understand that ADOPTION IS NOT GUARANTEED. We are not first come, first served and submitting an application does NOT guarantee adoption. You will be contacted by an Adoption Coordinator once your application has gone through the approval process. Please ONLY APPLY IF you are ready to commit to adoption. Story
Monty is a gentle giant with a huge heart. He’s incredibly loyal and affectionate, loves cuddles and daily walks, and thrives on being close to his people. He’s fully potty trained, well-mannered, and responds reliably to all major commands — a truly trained dog who wants to do the right thing. Monty has been around people of all ages and has even lived successfully with two other dogs (a Weimaraner and a Whippet). While he can be selective with other dogs and we’ve noticed the most tension with Golden Retrievers, he has done well when introductions are handled properly and thoughtfully. His biggest challenge is leash reactivity. He can be anxious and protective when on leash, but he responds very well to firm, confident handling and the use of an e-collar. Because of this, we avoid overly populated areas and dog parks, and he does best in calmer environments with structured walks. At home and with people he knows, Monty is a big goof — sweet, loving, and endlessly loyal.

Story
You know those dogs you meet with giant heads you can’t wait to squish. Well our Barney would be the perfect candidate for best squish. He is a gorgeous one year old, brindle Mastiff mix, who is as goofy and silly as they come. Barney loves being outside, and can’t wait to go play, or roll around in our yards. He adores company in the yards and we have been looking for a pup who can match his energy. While he loves playing with other dogs, Barney does have some health concerns that have limited his play time and partners. He does need a harness when walking as pressure on his trachea does cause him to cough, sounding like grumbling, even if it’s not. He also has Hip Dysplasia which has him putting in a bit more effort than his counterparts when out and about. This doesn’t stop him though, as he is still young and full of energy. He is always excited when he gets a new toy, and has shown us his defluffing skills on his stuffies. He is not very treat motivated and does better with positive reinforcement. He is happy to roll over and get belly rubs, or try to lay down in your lap. He has no clue how big he actually is! Barney would make a wonderful addition to any family, looking for a sweet, playful, silly big dog. If you are interested in meeting this handsome boy, please fill out an adoption application (no commitment) at Satchelslastresort.org.
