Story
Meet Betty White! Betty White is almost 3 years old. Betty White is good with other dogs, though we aren't sure how she would do in a home with cats, though due to her energy level we do not recommend a home with cats. While she is great and gentle with people, she does pull on a lead. She is a gentle dog who just wants all the love she can get from anyone who'll show it to her! We think she may be a Great Dane mix due to her size and build! Betty White is up to date on vaccine, spayed, microchipped and ready for her forever home! If you have questions or would like to meet Betty, please call us at (828)980-0016 or email us at rutherfordanimalcontrol@heartofthefoothills.org

Story
Oachie is a great dog. But with my living situation now I am not able to keep her. I live with my brother and his wife and they have 2 children and another dog. Oachie has never been around children or other dogs, so she is a little aggressive towards the children and aggressive towards other dogs. She is protective over her owner. Oachie is perfect for a couple or a single person with no children or dogs. She is the best dog in the world if it’s just her and the owner(s) in the house. She is very laid back and lazy but loves to walk on a leash and be with owner. She is very loyal to her owner and care giver. I hate to give her up but with my living situation I’m gonna have to find her a new home. But I promise without children or other dogs she’s the sweetest best dog in the world. Story
Sweet Winnie is a year and a half and weighs in at 75 lbs. She does have some Great Dane in her bloodline. She is very loving and affectionate, loves to bring her toys to you. She would be great with dogs her size as she is a little too much for smaller dogs. She also does well with the kitties. She is looking for a fun loving forever home to go on adventures with her. If you would like to meet this wonderful girl, please continue to read and fill out our on line application. https://cliffordsarmyrescue.com/1423-2/ RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Again these are recommendations. Adoption Procedures: We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling our our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home. Story
Meet sweet boy Kipper. Kipper was born August 30, 2023. He, his littermates and his mom ended up at the local county shelter. We pulled him and the rest of his family. Mom is a Great Dane mix, dad or dads were traveling salesmen and did not leave their card for us to find out who they were. Best guess is Dane/Lab mix. Kipper weighs in at 55 lbs. He does have a unique breathing pattern. Once he is tired, he breathes very heavily. We have taken him to specialists, and they said it is nothing to be alarmed about, just genetic. Kipper is great with other dogs and cats. He also loves, loves, loves his people. He like to snuggle and lean into you to get as close as possible to you. Could Kipper be the match for your new family member? If you think so, please continue to read and fill out our on line app. ( link at the bottom of the info) RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. Story
Hi! My name is Kanga and I am looking for my human to love, snuggle and cuddle with! I am a Great Dane mix, with the looks of a Dane but a bit smaller. I do love to snuggle and even though I am a pretty big girl, I love to crawl up in your lap! Super sweet with everyone I meet! I walk well on a leash, and will gladly go hiking or walking with you. I do have a good bit of energy so a fenced in yard would be great! We could play fetch and other games together. Did I say I had a good bit of energy and loved to play??? I need a bit more work in the house as I have been known to counter surf. I am crate trained but need more work on my house training. I am 4 years old and very smart. I want to be with you as much as possible. Just look into my beautiful baby blues and you will hopefully fall in love with me as much as I will love you.
