Story
Get ready to meet the incredible HARLEY, an 8-month-old Great Dane/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix who has already stolen hearts! Brought to the Harrison County Dog Pound in Cadiz, OH as a stray (though she wasn’t), HARLEY's story reveals a resilience that shines brighter with every new chapter. It's astonishing how some people underestimate the power of truth in the digital age, but here we are. With a past that includes at least three homes in just 8 months, HARLEY is now looking for a forever family who will love her unconditionally. This gentle soul gets along great with kids and other dogs, and while she's yet to meet a feline friend, a meet-and-greet will be part of the adoption process for approved adopters. If you're ready to welcome a loving Great Dane mix into your life, look no further than HARLEY! Harrison County Dog Pound. 82900 Toot Rd. Cadiz, OH 43950. Open: Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm; Saturday 9am-2pm; closed Sundays and holidays. Adoption applications are available at the pound or online at harrisoncountydogpoundvolunteers.org. Stella is such a sweet girl! She loves attention, loves her people, goofy play style, loves to run in the yard, chases toys and she will even fetch sometimes! Stella adores her canine foster siblling as well! She will be a perfect companion for the right family - older kids should be no issue. She could be only dog but would do great with another dog as well! Stella has not been cat tested. Fill out an application at www.maggiesmissionrescue.org

**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Big Mac. I'm about 4 years old and I weigh about 65 lbs. I was found as a stray in the Winona area. I was microchipped, but the chip was not registered and therefore unable to be traced back to my owner. Nobody came looking for me or tried to claim me, so I am now looking for a loving new family to join. I am a very sweet boy. I am very affectionate. I love getting petted and once I am comfortable with you, I love getting snuggles! I have been good with the other dogs and even the office cats here at the pound. I keep my kennel clean at night and appear to have been a house dog before making my way into the pound. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable.
