Last winter Diva arrived as a stray near our shelter, very thin and kind of desperate. She appears to be about 3 years old and currently weighs 75 pounds pounds, filling out but not a giant. Very nice manners, loves car rides, has a lot of energy, friendly with other dogs except with food, good with all people. Indifferent to cats. Spayed, current on shots, Lyme/heart worm tested. Albus is a handsome 1-1/2 year old male Great Dane mix who was surrendered by his owner to the Washington County Ohio Dog Warden on September 15, 2025 after Albus' family had relocated. Albus has a snow white coat, long legs, a long tail, and a beautiful black-and-white face with Great Dane features. This young man knows basic commands (sit, shake, and easy). Albus is very treat motivated and has a sweet, outgoing personality. These photos of Albus were taken on September 19th when HSOV Kennel Tech Emma Dahlgren spent time with him outdoors and helped him with his best poses. Albus loved the opportunity to stretch his long legs and run a few laps around Emma. Albus even surprised us with some yoga poses (naturally he excelled in the 'downward dog' position) (smile). Albus currently weighs 57 lbs and is fairly strong on a leash. Albus will be neutered before being adopted by his new family. He could be fostered-to-adopt while he is awaiting his neuter procedure with an approved HSOV foster/adoption application.

We do our best to inform adopters about the potential breeds for each dog.We are a dog only facility so we do not know how most of our dogs will be with cats. Even if a dog is surrendered to us and said to be good with cats there is no way to be sure the dog will be good with your cats. We do have a 7 day foster-to-adopt program so that you can see how the dog interacts with your cats before adoption.
