Story
About 6 years ago Delilah was found roaming the back dumpster bin of a Raising Caine’s restaurant, starving and looking like someone bread her for puppies and then dumped her…Luckily she was rescued by 2 loving, large dogs lovers. She was nurtured, well fed, and loved.Unfortunately her adopted dog mom died during Covid. And her new dog mom is just overwhelmed with a baby, 4 cats and 2 large breed dogs in their loving home. She is estimated to be between 7 & 8 years old. She requires no medication. She is housebroken, gets along with cats and children (her size alone requires adult supervision with small children around because she is over 100 pounds.). She is not spayed and the vet said she was too old to do it safely when her family had the time and money to get her spayed. She is a docile, fun loving, very gentle giant that needs a loving home.

Story
I've had Charlie since he was 8 weeks old. (He is nearly 7 years old now.) Over the past couple years, our family situation changed, and things have gotten progressively worse in our living situation. We've tried making the apartment life work for Charlie for the past year, but he is alone most of the time, and he is just not adjusting well to all these changes. He is a great dog. Smart. Sweet. House trained. Leash trained.Charlie would be ideal for someone:Without any other dogs. (He is afraid of other dogs. This is a hard requirement because I won’t have the ability to take him back if there are any issues.)Spends a fair amount of time with him. (He was used to having me working from home, but now that I work in the office, he seems to be pretty depressed.)Has experience with large breeds. (He is on the smaller side for a Dane, but he is still large!)Who won't make him spend a lot of time outside. (He doesn't really like being outside for long stretches of time.)

Story
Meet Johnny! He is around 1.5 years old and a long and lanky 55 lbs, ready to find his forever home! This sweet guy was found as a stray by Lake Hefner with his sister June when they were still small puppies. They have received all the vet care they need and have grown into great doggos, June has been adopted and Johnny is more than ready to find a home of his own. Johnny is house and crate trained and does great on a leash! He knows sit and is leaning to play fetch. He loves to be in the backyard, chasing squirrels in the yard and telling the birds to get off his lawn. He also loves playing with a dog friend outside! He has done well with other dogs, big and small, with proper introductions. We're unsure how he may be with cats. He is a sweet boy but, like many dogs and people, he takes a minute to warm up to new people. He hasn't lived with children but would likely do fine with older kids that know how to respect dog friends and can give him the time and space a shy guy like him needs to make new friends. He loves to go on walks, snuggle up by his people, and get his back and belly rubbed. Johnny does resource guard some but does great eating in his kennel, giving everyone a little space when it's dinner time. Johnny has a lot to offer a dog-loving person or family that can give a rescue dog the love and patience they need to adjust to a new family and home. You can send inquiries to our adoptions team at muttmisfitsadoptions@gmail.com or apply to meet / adopt at www.muttmisfits.org/adoption-application Johnny is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heart worm negative, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $150.

Story
Meet Derby! This 4-year-old Catahoula-Pittie mix is a big bundle of joy with an even bigger heart. Derby is full of playful energy and absolutely loves being around kids and other dogs—he’s the kind of pup who makes fast friends everywhere he goes. When he's not zooming around the backyard or proudly carrying his favorite rope toy, Derby enjoys stretching out for a good nap and getting his nose scratched (his favorite form of affection). He’s the perfect mix of goofball and cuddle buddy. Derby would thrive in an active home with space to play and people (or pups) to love on. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a sweet nature and a playful spirit, Derby might just be your perfect match. ##1712457##

Story
This beautiful lady is Nadia! Nadia is an approximately 3-year old female Shepherd/Great Dane mix and weighs around 60 lbs. She was rescued from a very small, outdoor shelter that does no public adoptions. Nadia is so sweet and affectionate. She loves to just be next to you. She is a friendly girl, who can be a little shy at first. Nadia loves to please and should take to training very well. And, don't worry, she will even help you walk her! Nadia LOVES to play with other dogs and can play rough at times, so a home with another playful dog her size or larger would be best. She loves to go to Bar-K and hang out! Nadia will need a secure stockade-fenced back yard and a home where she can get exercise and attention. She is so grateful to live and demonstrates that with affection. Nadia is crate-trained and will walk on a leash but does pull, so a harness is a better option. Since she is in boarding, we do not know if she is house-trained. Nadia is spayed, current on vaccines, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $250. Nadia is currently in a boarding situation, so she qualifies as a foster-to-adopt or just a foster. Story
This regal gal is Miss Xena! Xena is an approximately 4-year old female Shepherd / Great Dane mix and weighs around 70 lbs. Xena is truly a warrior princess! She carries herself very gracefully and is truly beautiful. Her pictures do not do her justice! She is a tall and lanky gal! Xena has an awesome personality, can be moderate energy or just chill! She loves playing with other dogs and is currently in a boarding daycare where she plays and socializes with many dogs of all sizes. Xena has done well with the children she has met at outreaches but she has not lived with them before. She is friendly and outgoing. She would love a home where she is included in activities and can interact with her person (people) on a daily basis. She does need a secure stockade-fenced yard as she has legs like a giraffe and could easily clear a chain-link or low fence. When bored, she has jumped a 6-ft chain-link fence just to go the front door of the daycare! Xena appears house-trained. She is crate-trained and walks on a leash like a princess diva! She is spayed, current on vaccines, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $250. Since Xena is in boarding, she qualifies as a foster-to-adopt or just as a foster. If you are interested in fostering Xena, go to www.foreveryoursokc.org/foster-application to apply. If you are interested in adopting Xena, apply at www.foreveryoursokc.org/adoption-application.
