Story
Major: 130 Pounds of Gentle Giant Love   Great Dane • 1½ years old • 130 pounds • Available the week of July 20   Major nearly lost his life for one heartbreaking reason: his landlord said he had to go, and his owner simply accepted that he would be euthanized.   Thankfully, a Nashville firefighter heard what was happening and stepped in to save him.   Since then, Major has been thriving in a foster home with four other dogs of different ages and temperaments. He has shown himself to be a remarkably sweet, curious, and adaptable young dog. He quickly learned to use the dog door, enjoys trips to the dog park, and handles new people, sounds, and surroundings with confidence.   At 1½ years old, Major still has a playful, youthful spirit, but he is mature enough to settle easily into a new routine. He is friendly, affectionate, and gentle—the kind of dog whose enormous heart matches his enormous paws.   Major is scheduled for surgery next week and should be ready for adoption the week of July 20. He is looking for a family that understands giant breeds and will give him the security and lifelong commitment he almost lost.   Major did not deserve to die because someone decided he was inconvenient. He deserves a home where he will be treasured for the truly special dog he is.   About Critter Cavalry Rescue:We’re a Middle Tennessee-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to saving high-risk homeless animals. Story
Roo is a 2–3 year old Blue Merle Great Dane adult who weighs 85 pounds and was found abandoned by a well-known lake in Tennessee.  Someone rescued her from this terrible fate of no food or clean water and no place to be as she was wandering around the lake area very skinny and starved.  She was so grateful when someone took her home.  She then had different people foster her only for a few days at a time until this wonderful family saw her plight and need and said.....let us take her and foster her with a good rescue group.  Now this big girl named Roo has some stability in her life and has earned the nickname “Velcro dog.”  Of course this lost and abandoned girl who was deserted by a lake and then bounced a few times, wants to be right by your side and soak up every ounce of love and attention you’re willing to give her.  She will learn one day that noone is ever going to abandon her again.  This athletic girl has plenty of energy, loves to play with a happy spirit and and is an impressive olympic class jumper. She will thrive best in an active home.  Food definitely motivates her and this makes it super easy to train her and get her undivided attention. Roo is house-trained, crate-trained, cat-friendly, and absolutely loves to snuggle in the bed with her humans.    Roo bonds quickly and becomes very protective of her people so we will have tips on how to temper that zealous enthusiasm to claim you. She needs a family where she can be the queen of the castle and receive endless love and attention in return. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will stick by you through everything, Roo is your girl!       Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested.  She is currently fostered in Tennessee and can be adopted locally and also can transport to a loving family that is northeast of Tennessee.  We transport almost weekly on the weekends.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 14, 2026, 12:38 pm

Story
Lucas is the sweetest, 12 month old pup. He is already 95 lbs, so he is a  big boy. Lucas is so friendly, bouncy, gentle, and just a big mush. Wants to be by your side at all times and is great with dogs and older, experienced kids, and we can cat test. He is well mannered, but very big and  pretty goofy at times, as the breed type can be. A must meet, for he is so much more handsome in person and truly a wonderful family dog. Large breed experience is important, and kids old enough to handle such a large pup. If there are kids, best if they are dog experienced. LOVABLE MUTTS ADOPTION CENTER (Pregnant Dog Rescue) is a private, in home, all breed rescue facility. We exist only on the kindness of your donations and adoptions! We pride ourselves on being an HOLISTIC center and feed only holistic foods and various vitamins and supplements to all of our dogs. LOVABLE MUTTS ADOPTION CENTER dogs are well socialized, very friendly, and in wonderful health.  We stand by our pups/dogs, and give 10 days for a refund and almost always take our dogs back at any age of their lives (often depends on dog)! LMAC has an application screening process.  All applicants are asked to provide vet references, personal references, and a home visit.  We pride ourselves in matching up the right dog with the right home. Sometimes this happens quickly and sometimes it might take awhile. We hope you understand and are willing to wait for the perfect pup for your situation. We reserve the right to turn applicants down and to change our mind about a suitable match, for we are only concerned about what is best for our dogs.  Also note that we arrange our visiting hours around your schedule, as this is a private, in home facility.  We respond to all inquiries promptly, so if you have any trouble sending us an email, or have not heard back from us within 24 hours, please, CONTACT US AGAIN and check your spam!  (We all know how emails can be at times!) Our dogs are spayed or neutered (if old enough), up to date on vaccines, wormed, heartworm tested, and free of fleas and ticks.  We temperament test our  dogs and they are all suitable for many family situations. Our dogs are well mannered, know some basic commands, and are usually housebroken within a week of being with us (if old enough).  They are in our family/home situation at this time (not in kennels or crates, although most are crate trained) and are worked with daily.  All of our dogs do well with other dogs and many do well with cats. Adoption donations vary with age, breed, vetting, and training of the dog, and range from $250 to $695 (most being $595).  (We do not tend to place puppies or small dogs with kids under 6 and reserve the right to match who WE feel would be the best homes for our dogs.)   July 12, 2026, 10:40 am

Story
Gracie is the best girl. She came to us extremely skinny and nervous, but has blossomed into an amazing companion, over the past few months, as we have worked with her daily. Gracie is under 3 years old and 120 solid lbs of wonderful. She is good with other dogs and with cats (might chase cats at times). We are hoping for an breed experienced home, so she goes where folks truly understand this breed. Another dog would be great, as long as it is not alpha. Gracie is just wonderful, with a protective side as well. She knows her commands and prefers a blankie over her, when she sleeps. Crate trained and housebroken, she is a must meet, for she will steal your heart for sure. LOVABLE MUTTS ADOPTION CENTER (Pregnant Dog Rescue) is a private, in home, all breed rescue facility. BONDED PAIR WITH LULU! PLEASE SEE LISTING FOR LULU! LULU AND DUKE MAY POTENTIALLY BE ADOPTED SEPARATELY, BUT IT IS PREFERRED THAT THEY ARE ADOPTED TOGETHER! Duke and Lulu are a bonded pair who came into rescue following the death of their owner and loss of their home. As expected after all the changes in their environment and family dynamic the past six months, they seek lots of attention. Both are affectionate, playful and eager to please and would do well in a structured environment with humans who can give them the time and attention they need. Duke seems to be the strong silent type – sitting back observing and taking his cues from Lulu. He warms up right away, while she needs a little time to get comfortable with new people. Both travel in the car extremely well, are crate trained, and have lived peacefully with several inside/outside cats. Their roommates/caretakers report they have high prey drive and do not like Chihuahuas. As far as exposure to children, they have only encountered a 12YO nephew a few times. They both listen considerably well, but could use general manners reinforcement and leash work. If you’re looking to add a pair of loveable, entertaining, in-your-face Danes to your family, then these two are for you! Stay tuned for updates. Please include your home area code and a phone number where a volunteer can reach you when contacting us about an adoption. DUKE UPDATE APRIL 2026 Duke has been moved to a NJ foster home and will begin treatment for heartworm, sadly Duke tested positive for Heartworm but not to worry, he will start treatment soon and then will be ready for adoption! Duke is a lovely boy, so friendly and a cuddle bug. He is being spoiled in his foster home until he starts the injections to kill the heartworms, then will have to go on crate rest. Fortunately, Duke is crate trained and learning to walk nicely on a leash. His first vet visit went well, he made lots of friends at his new vet office. Keep your eye on this one, once ready, Duke will be an amazing addition to any home. For more information on this dog and our adoption policies, visit MAGDRL at https://www.magdrl.org. She has adjusted so quickly it feels like she’s been here forever! She loves being near her people but loves being ON her people even more. While she’s polite about it, Lulu will want to know every detail of what you’re doing - no matter what you’re doing. Bathroom, cooking, gardening - Lulu is right next to you to observe. If you’re looking for a 100+ lb lap dog, look no further. She’s also great with young kids and cats. Lulu is working on her leash manners but is doing really well with that. Lulu is currently living with a toddler, special needs cat, dogs, chickens Quick Stats Good with dogs? ✅ Crate trained? ✅ Good with kids? ✅ Housebroken? ✅ Good with cats? ✅ Good with other animals? ✅ Personality Highlights Great with all dogs so far Seems to be good with young kids (currently lives with a 2.5 y/o boy) Seems to be good with cats as long as the cat is ok with being gently tormented Good with chickens. Chases for a second sometimes but otherwise ignores completely Things To Be Aware Of Showed slight food resource guarding the first night with one dog in the foster home. But hasn’t shown it again Did NOT show any resource guarding towards humans Does really, really well on a long lead. She’s thriving on a 20 ft lead. It avoids creating anymore trauma or aggressive behavior associated with the leash Will only finish her kibble if water is added Is not treat motivated AT ALL She was slightly wary of new people at the vet but this was to be expected. She warmed up quickly and the staff gave her lots of praise and cuddles. Lulu will start her heartworm treatment at the end of May, her adoption is on hold until her treatment is completed.
