Story
Breaker is up for adoption in TX, NE and PNW (excluding MA)! Breaker is a 1-year-old, 65-pound Great Dane/Boxer mix with a heart as big as his goofy grin. This splash-happy pup LOVES the water—whether he’s chasing toys into the pool, splashing through a creek, or just romping around the yard, Breaker is always up for adventure. With the playful energy of a Boxer and the gentle, loyal nature of a Dane, he’s the best of both worlds—equal parts fun and affection. Breaker is dog-friendly (with pups his size), loves people, and is happiest when he’s part of the action. He’s making great progress with crate training and is learning his puppy manners, especially when treats are involved. Breaker wasn't given much structure as a pup so, Breaker sometimes tries to play bite to get his way. Even after a board-and-train program, he will need a family committed to consistent, positive reinforcement training to help him reach his full potential. Breaker would thrive in an active home with space to play and maybe even a doggy sibling to share his adventures with. If you’re looking for a loyal, silly, water-loving companion who will keep you laughing and fill your days with joy, Breaker is your guy! To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. To apply directly for Breaker click the "Apply for Adoption" button. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-576 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. Story
Meet Boone – A Gentle Soul Ready for a Fresh Start Boone is a striking Great Dane and Black Mouth Cur mix at 65 pounds with soulful eyes and a quiet, thoughtful demeanor. Rescued after being abandoned on the roadside, Boone's past suggests he was used as a hunting dog and likely spent much of his life confined to a kennel. This history has left him shy and cautious at first, but with time, patience, and kindness, Boone reveals his deeply affectionate side. Once he begins to trust, Boone becomes a devoted companion who craves gentle affection and enjoys peaceful moments with his person. He thrives in a calm environment and takes comfort in the presence of other dogs—he gets along wonderfully with canine companions and would benefit from a home with another friendly dog to help boost his confidence. Currently being fostered in Seguin, TX, Boone is looking for a foster or forever home in Central Texas only. He needs a loving, understanding family who can help him continue to blossom at his own pace. His ideal adopter would be someone familiar with hounds or someone who appreciates the gentle, loyal nature of these incredible breeds. If you're a hound enthusiast or simply someone with a kind heart and a quiet home, Boone may be the perfect match for you. He’s not just looking for a home—he’s looking for someone who sees his potential and will offer the love and patience he’s never known before. Boone is ready to start again. Story
Huck (Certified Gentle Giant & Retired Linebacker) 🐾💙 What do you even say about Huck? This guy is a diamond in the rough and then some. He’s been in rescue since 2018 (came to us in November 2025 from another rescue), which is honestly criminal because he is pure gold. Huck is about 9 years old, absolutely gorgeous, and… enormous. And no, that’s not an exaggeration. This man is basically a horse. If someone showed up with a saddle, we’d have questions — but also maybe it would work. He’s strong as an ox and hasn’t quite figured out that when he comes at you at 80 mph, he can’t stop on a dime. That means you might receive some enthusiastic love bruises (affectionately known as “Huck body punches”). Totally worth it. Huck has the sweetest face and a heart just as big as his body. He LOVES playing ball — though returning it is optional in his mind. He prefers a system where everyone gets their steps in, so yes… you’re going to work for it. He also loves jumping up for hugs and going on long sniff-filled walks, taking in all the important neighborhood gossip. Fun fact: before we picked him up, Huck was sprayed by a skunk. And whewwwww… he gives it a solid 10/10 do NOT recommend. Thankfully, the smell has finally faded, and the lesson has been learned. He is completely house trained, incredibly loyal, and very protective of the people he loves. Huck would make an amazing family dog and is the kind of guy who will happily alert you when someone comes up the driveway — free security system included. This sweet old man does not deserve to spend his entire life in rescue. He deserves a couch, a yard, and a family who sees how special he is. 📍 Located in Cleveland, TN 🚗 Transport available to other states 💲 Adoption fee: $100 If you’re looking for a big-hearted, big-bodied, endlessly lovable companion — Huck is ready to finally go home. 🐶💕

Story
🐾❤️ Meet Harley ❤️🐾 This big, goofy dog is ready to steal your heart (and maybe your spot on the couch too 😉). Harley came into rescue in April 2025 after being owner surrendered with his buddy Jethro. Now, he’s hoping his forever family is right around the corner. Harley is a 2 year old Treeing Walker Coonhound/Anatolian Shepherd mix who’s already fully vetted ✅. At 77 lbs, he’s definitely a big guy — but don’t tell him that, because he’s convinced he’s a lap dog 🥹💙. He’s dog friendly and absolutely loves to romp and play with other pups 🐕💨. He hasn’t been tested with cats yet (but we can check if needed). Harley is also kid friendly, though because of his size and playful energy, he’d do best in a home with older children. Harley is a sweetheart through and through — silly, loving, and always ready to play. He might be strong on the leash (sometimes he forgets he’s not a featherweight 😅), but with a little consistency, he’ll be the perfect adventure buddy. Whether it’s running around with doggy friends, going for walks, or snuggling up with his people, Harley just wants to love and be loved. 🐾💕 📍 Located in Cleveland, TN 🚗 Transport available to other states 💰 Adoption fee: $150 ✨ If you’re looking for a big-hearted, goofy, lovable boy who will fill your home with laughter and love, Harley’s your guy! 🏡❤️🐾

Story
🐾✨ Meet Smokey! ✨🐾 Smokey is a 2.5-year-old handsome, athletic boy and a true gentle giant at heart. He is fully vetted, weighs 67 lbs, and has been patiently waiting for his forever family with Journey’s Legacy since June 2024 🏡. Rescued from Animal Control, Smokey is ready to bring love, fun, and adventure into the right home. With his sleek black-and-white coat 🖤🤍 and tall, powerful frame, Smokey definitely turns heads—but it’s his sweet, easygoing personality that truly steals hearts. He loves all people and is great with kids 👧🧒, always happy to soak up attention and affection. Smokey enjoys the company of some dogs and does best with pups who aren’t bossy. He’s very much a go-with-the-flow kind of guy—sweet, gentle, and happy to coexist with dog friends who respect his laid-back vibe. One important thing to know about Smokey: he’s a big jumper 🦘 and will need a secure, fenced-in yard. He’s basically a stallion who wants to run free, stretch his long legs, and enjoy the outdoors safely. This tall, active boy ⚡ would thrive in a home that enjoys staying on the move—walking, running, hiking 🥾, swimming 🏊‍♂️, or just spending lots of time outside. After too long in a kennel, Smokey is more than ready to explore the world 🌎 with his forever family. 📍 Located in Cleveland, TN 🚗 Transport available to other states 💵 Adoption Fee: $150 Smokey is ready to share his love, loyalty, and adventurous spirit 🐾❤️ with a family who understands his need for space, movement, and affection. Could that be you? 🏡✨
