Roo is a 2–3 year old Blue Merle Great Dane adult who weighs 85 pounds and was found abandoned by a well-known lake in Tennessee. Someone rescued her from this terrible fate of no food or clean water and no place to be as she was wandering around the lake area very skinny and starved. She was so grateful when someone took her home. She then had different people foster her only for a few days at a time until this wonderful family saw her plight and need and said.....let us take her and foster her with a good rescue group. Now this big girl named Roo has some stability in her life and has earned the nickname “Velcro dog.” Of course this lost and abandoned girl who was deserted by a lake and then bounced a few times, wants to be right by your side and soak up every ounce of love and attention you’re willing to give her. She will learn one day that noone is ever going to abandon her again. This athletic girl has plenty of energy, loves to play with a happy spirit and and is an impressive olympic class jumper. She will thrive best in an active home. Food definitely motivates her and this makes it super easy to train her and get her undivided attention. Roo is house-trained, crate-trained, cat-friendly, and absolutely loves to snuggle in the bed with her humans. Roo bonds quickly and becomes very protective of her people so we will have tips on how to temper that zealous enthusiasm to claim you. She needs a family where she can be the queen of the castle and receive endless love and attention in return. We call him Nyx, Nyxon, and Nyxaris. He is so sweet, loving and just all around the best dog. He is great with kids and has never had any issues with another dog. He likes cats but cats do not like him lol. We don’t want to get rid of him but it’s what is best for our family right now. Nyx is a lazy couch potato who sometimes gets the outside zoomies. He is good on a leash but does try and pull sometimes. I have him off-leash when we are outside playing and he doesn’t roam. He will follow commands to come, and sit. He is house trained and will stay in a crate if he needs to, but does good out of it. He’s UTD on shots and flea/tick medicine. He is such a good dog he deserves the best home.

CJ was born on December 10, 2021. He is currently 20 lbs and is current on all his vaccinations, including Bordadela for boarding purposes.We have taken exceptional care of him. He has been a mouthy dog since puppy. Of course we thought it was just puppy bite but we soon found out that he grew into it. We did everything we could to train him until after 3 years we took him to a very reputable Veterinarian Behaviorist. We worked with her for a year. All kinds of meds, different foods. He was on Farmers Dog for a long time then developed allergies so we put him on prescription food from the vet. When nothing really worked, the recommendation was that we euthanize him. Our hearts were broken and we decided to give him a second chance at life. We knew he was a good dog and just needed something more. He needed leadership, direction and protection. Of course we didn't know this as we never had a Jack Russell before. We then found a behavioral trainer in TN who has had CJ for 5 weeks. The transformation has been nothing more than amazing. He is so well trained now. He has become quite the celebrity on Instagram. People are following his progress and routing for him. It's been wonderful to see. An entirely different dog. We will continue the training virtually until the end of September. This was the best decision we ever made for him. We also purchased all the tools that he is currently getting in training. New kennel, new bed, his new food.(Raw Variance). Slip lead we will get from his trainer. CJ needs a loving environment where he can live out the rest of his life happy and healthy. He will still need to adhere to all of the training he received otherwise our concern would be that he will more than likely revert back to his old habits. CJ is just not compatible for us and now more than ever my husband has some major health issues that we have to deal with and we cannot give him the attention he deserves. Available dogs are met by appointment only and pre-approved adopters ONLY.Our dogs are currently in a foster homes which can answer your questions better than anyone else. We promise our fosters that we will qualify all potential adopters before we ask them to communicate with potential adopters.The application is the first step. Russell Rescue dogs are fostered in the Middle Tennessee area. We do not ship/transport our dogs, so the approved adopter must be willing to travel to Tennessee.
