Story
Roo is a 2–3 year old Blue Merle Great Dane adult who weighs 85 pounds and was found abandoned by a well-known lake in Tennessee.  Someone rescued her from this terrible fate of no food or clean water and no place to be as she was wandering around the lake area very skinny and starved.  She was so grateful when someone took her home.  She then had different people foster her only for a few days at a time until this wonderful family saw her plight and need and said.....let us take her and foster her with a good rescue group.  Now this big girl named Roo has some stability in her life and has earned the nickname “Velcro dog.”  Of course this lost and abandoned girl who was deserted by a lake and then bounced a few times, wants to be right by your side and soak up every ounce of love and attention you’re willing to give her.  She will learn one day that noone is ever going to abandon her again.  This athletic girl has plenty of energy, loves to play with a happy spirit and and is an impressive olympic class jumper. She will thrive best in an active home.  Food definitely motivates her and this makes it super easy to train her and get her undivided attention. Roo is house-trained, crate-trained, cat-friendly, and absolutely loves to snuggle in the bed with her humans.    Roo bonds quickly and becomes very protective of her people so we will have tips on how to temper that zealous enthusiasm to claim you. She needs a family where she can be the queen of the castle and receive endless love and attention in return. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will stick by you through everything, Roo is your girl!       Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested.  She is currently fostered in Tennessee and can be adopted locally and also can transport to a loving family that is northeast of Tennessee.  We transport almost weekly on the weekends.       ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. 🐾 MEET JANE THE DANE! 🐾 Meet Jane the Dane — aka the bestest girl who just wants to love and be loved. 💕 And yes… she is fully convinced that a Great Dane is the perfect size for a lap dog. 😂 Jane lived with her original family for the first year of her life. Unfortunately, their senior dog became dangerously aggressive toward her, and they had to make the incredibly difficult decision to find Jane another home to keep everyone safe. For the last 8 months, Jane has been living with her adopter’s sister. She has done wonderfully with the family but, for some reason no one can quite figure out, she has never warmed up to her husband. Their running joke is that Jane simply doesn’t trust gingers with mustaches. 😂🤷‍♀️ Everyone who knows Jane will tell you the same thing: she is a GREAT dog, and the fact that she needs another home is absolutely no reflection on her. Sometimes the right dog just needs the right home. 💙 🐶 Loves other dogs 🐱 Good with cats 👧 Loves kids 🏠 Crate trained 🦮 Leash trained 🚽 Potty trained She’s wonderful with children, although she may accidentally knock over a little one simply by walking too close — because Jane has absolutely no idea how big she is. 😂 Jane has already had a lot of change in her young life, and we would love nothing more than for her next move to be her last. She deserves a family who will love her giant body, sweet soul, and even bigger heart forever. 🥹❤️ Please share and help us find Jane the Dane her perfect forever home!

Story
MEET RUTHIE — A GENTLE, CLUMSY GIRL LOOKING FOR HER PERSON Ruthie is a beautiful 1.5–2-year-old, 59 lb. yellow dog who looks like she may have some Anatolian Shepherd or Boxer in her mix. Her personality, though, is more Great Dane or Great Pyrenees: gentle, steady, loyal, and happiest near her people. She has short bursts of playful energy, followed by long, peaceful naps. Ruthie came into rescue after surviving on her own for several months in the Nashville area. Because of that, she can be cautious in new situations and needs an adopter who understands that trust may take a little time. Once she bonds, though, she bonds deeply. In her foster home, Ruthie has become loving, relaxed, and very attached to her person. She is house-trained, quiet in the home, gentle taking treats, and has never had an accident in her foster home. She enjoys hiking, dog park trips, squirrel patrol, mud, water, shade, and then settling down for a good nap. She has a sweet, clumsy play style and sometimes seems like she is still figuring out where all four legs are supposed to go. Ruthie is wonderful with other dogs and plays gently with dog friends of all sizes. She is also easy and gentle with children, greeting them with the same soft, cautious curiosity she uses with new adults. She would likely enjoy having a confident dog friend, but what she wants most is a person or family to belong to. Ruthie is not a dog who would thrive being left alone all day with limited interaction. A work-from-home adopter, active household, or home with another friendly dog would be a great fit. Because Ruthie is smart, strong, and resourceful, her forever family should be prepared to use extra safety precautions during the transition period. A fenced yard is strongly preferred. We also recommend a martingale collar, double leash setup, and an AirTag or GPS collar until she is fully settled and bonded. Ruthie is not difficult. She just needs someone thoughtful, patient, and confident enough to help her feel safe. She has already proven that once she trusts you, she is incredibly loyal and loving. RUTHIE’S IDEAL HOME: - Patient, confident adopter - Fenced yard preferred - Another friendly dog would be a plus, any size or disposition - Work-from-home or active family preferred - Someone willing to use transition safety tools at first - A home that understands cautious dogs can become the most devoted companions Ruthie is being fostered in Tennessee. Tennessee adoption is preferred, but Critter Cavalry does transport to the Northeast weekly for the right adopter. INTERESTED IN RUTHIE? Story
Chiffon is incredibly loving and remarkably smart. She has so much potential just waiting to be discovered. At almost one year old, she is at such a wonderful point in her life: young enough to learn, adapt, and grow, but old enough that her personality is beginning to shine through. She is just about finished growing and is on the larger side of medium. The right family could really help Chiffon blossom. She doesn't need someone looking for a perfectly finished dog. She needs someone who will see what she can become and enjoy being part of that journey. With consistency, guidance, patience, and love, there is so much you could teach this girl—and so much she could give back. We can picture Chiffon learning the rhythm of family life, going for walks with her people, discovering new places, soaking up attention, and eventually wondering how she ever lived without a family of her own. Her intelligence and genetics give her an incredible foundation, but the love and guidance of the right person could help turn that potential into something truly wonderful. Chiffon has already been given a good start. Now she needs someone willing to take the next step with her. Someone who will invest in her. Someone who will give her that one-on-one connection she hasn't yet experienced. Someone who will enjoy watching her learn, grow, and become the amazing companion we believe she is meant to be. And in return, you may get something pretty extraordinary—a smart, loving, loyal dog who has all the makings of an incredible family member. Chiffon's future is just beginning, and the right family could make all the difference in the world. ❤️    Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com    ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.
