Story
Tall Titan, is a strong and remarkable  Warrior, a dog that has fought to be alive and walking  today on this earth.  He has willed himself to come from the depths of pain and starvation to become this handsome boy that you see right now.  He is our Super Hero Pup and our example of a creature that has never given up even when it would have been easier to just go to sleep and never wake up.  When Titan came to a rescue lady’s house that Critter Cavalry knows, this boy was malnourished and just a skeleton of the puppy he should be as a Great Dane.  The lady has a love for the Danes and she asked CCR to please take him into our rescue before she fell in love and couldn’t let him go.  She had enough dogs and just felt the temptation to keep him was too great.  We agreed and soon Titan was ours to raise and get prepped for a new home and family.  Shortly afterwards his foster family noticed he was struggling to walk and his joints were inflamed. Titan was taken to several vets before receiving the diagnosis of  Hypertrophic osteodystrophy (HOD). He has been put on a regimen of medications, high calorie food and hydrotherapy and is now running, jumping and playing with other dogs. His favorite things to do are play with toys, run and nap in the sun. Titan is a large dog and will do best in a home with another large dog or two that he will be able to play with. He will continue to need medication intermittently for some time and to be followed by a veterinarian.  If you have large breed dog experience and are willing to take on this fellas special needs please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue. He is not house trained to hold longer than 4 hours.  He needs to eat separately at mealtimes and he needs to learn better how to play with his toys in a group setting if there are other dogs.  If he is the only dog then there is no special monitoring.  Titan rides like a champ in the car or truck and he is definitely crate trained with good dog/name recall.  He would be easier to watch in the yard if you had a real physical fence installed since he likes to wander off out of curiosity.   Please email Critter Cavalry at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.  He is great with young children/boys that are rough and tumble and lots of noise. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 17, 2024, 5:52 pm

Story
Meet Titan!! He’s a complete goofy love bug! He absolutely loves his humans. He is huge! Super tall. He loves to lean into you for pets and scratches. He is potty trained and crate trained.  He has been through obedience training. As of now still in it. Loves to play. Walks well on a leash, knows how to come, sit, down and place. He has picked up on his commands very quickly. He wants to do the right thing.  He was sent to training to help him with dog aggression. Per history he was attacked multiple times at dog parks and had a difficult time with dogs since then. Through his training process he is learning how to play and act when in the presence of other dogs. He has played with our more playful dogs without any issue. He does not take correct from a dog well and as of now it can turn into a fight if another dog nips at him because he is too close. If there are not any corrections from the other dog he does extremely well and loves to play! A perfect home for Titan would be a family with bigger kids only due to his size. An active family who is willing to continue his obedience training and pushing him to his full potential. If there is a dog in the home the dog would need to be submissive and playful. They would need really slow introductions, this can be explained in more detail if interested.  Let us now if you are interested or have any questions!! Titan is being fostered in Chesapeake, VA. If you have other dogs we ask you bring them for a meet. If you are out of state, we require you to come to VA where foster is for meet and greet.  ##1884959##

Story
This is Dolly! She is so sweet and loving. House trained, able to go outside without a tie out or leash (for rural families only) and she just loves her people. This big bootiful lady loves to play fetch, and she is falling more and more in love with her foster sister. She only knows to come, all the other basic obedience commands are going to be a work in progress. This lady has been a joy to be in my house. She loves kids, and dogs. Cats are a slow introduction for her, but after a little while she will just walk right by them. She truly deserves to be loved by someone in her forever home! Dolly is being fostered in Colonial Heights, VA. If you have other dogs we ask you bring them for a meet. If you are out of state, we require you to come to VA where foster is for meet and greet.  ##2000557##
