Story

Roxy has been through so much and deserves so much love. She was abandoned as a puppy in September 2024, but now, she is ready to meet & love her forever family! We just found out through a DNA test that she is half Great Pyrenees and half American Staffordshire Terrier. At 80 lbs, she doesn't realize how big she is however, she walks well on a leash and loves attention and cuddles. She has some reactivity to other dogs so a slow introduction is required if going to a home with other pets. She would also thrive as an only dog! An ideal home would have older (teen) or no children as she is strong when she plays. She is estimated to be born in May 2024 and she successfully completed a 4-week board-and-train program as of May 28, 2025. Roxy is a 2-year-old, 80 lb mix (Great Pyrenees + American Staffordshire) with the sweetest, most cuddly personality. She loves being close, soaking up attention, and just being your big, happy shadow. Her story hasn’t been easy—she was abandoned as a puppy, tied to a porch when her family moved away. But she’s come so far. With nearly a year in foster care and professional training, she’s learned structure, leash manners, and how to trust again. She’ll need a strong, confident handler to continue guiding her—but you won’t be doing it alone.
