Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $200 if picked up in TN, $275 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. Meet Simon, the happy and playful 1-year-old Great Pyrenees and Golden Retriever mix. Weighing in at 53 pounds, Simon has the size and goofy disposition of a Golden with the bark and fluff of a Pyrenees. He has a medium to high energy level for playtime but also knows how to relax. His big, silly grin and gentle pawing for pets will melt your heart. Simon's adorable habit of sleeping upside down in his crate with his legs in the air will surely make you smile. Simon knows a few commands, including "Sit," "Shake," and "Kennel." He has had no accidents in his foster home and will whine or bark in his crate when he needs to go outside. Though he may talk back a bit when first crated, he quickly relaxes and goes to sleep. Simon loves food, toys, and attention from his people. He enjoys wrestling and playing with other dogs, making him a fun and lively companion. He is good with other dogs who will accept his roughhousing play style, polite to cats, and although he hasn't met any kids yet, we think he would be fine with them. Simon walks okay on a leash and does not get car sick, making him a great companion for walks and car rides. His quirk is his love for giving people full-body hugs, which not everyone will appreciate, but it's all part of his loving nature. Simon would thrive in a home with a family who can match his energy level and provide plenty of structure, playtime and attention with a fenced yard. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate, and silly companion, Simon is the perfect addition to your family!  Interested in adopting? Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. February 2, 2025, 12:07 am

Story
Meet Layla, the reigning queen of relaxation! This sweet 60 pound, Aussie/Great Pry mix pretty girl loves to take it easy, whether it's lounging on the couch, basking in the sun, or snoozing her day away in her favorite spot.  At 6 years of age, Layla has made is known that she prefers a calm, peaceful environment where she can indulge in her love of napping without too much excitement.  She’ll happily keep you company during your quiet moments, and will always be up for a long walk or playtime with feline friends who are her favorite four-legged friends. Layla would do best in a home without young children or other dogs, as she loves her space and enjoys a slower, more serene pace of life. If you're seeking a loyal, affectionate companion who values comfort above all else, Layla is your perfect match.   This beauty is housebroken and loves to run around the yard with her people.  Years ago Layla decided that she wanted to be the only dog in her home and that is how she has lived and what we are seeking for her again.  She has been living as the only companion in the home until 3 years ago when the family started having children.  Now the young toddlers are having their normal growing up noises and activities create a less than calm environment for Layla.  Her family knows it will be best for Layla to find a new and quieter home without the toddler chaos.  Critter Cavalry Rescue knows that many dogs do not transition well with toddlers that enter the home after they were the only dogs early in life.  Layla is so loved and because of that her owners are admitting that she needs a new start that suits her laidback demeanor. Children over 10 years will be fine. This dog is good on leash walks but doesn’t need to be at dog parks where other dogs will not respect her “space”.  She is crate trained but honestly she does no damage if left loose during the day for many hours.  Layla does love cats and is a very loving girl that is beautiful and very smart.  She has so many years left to bring joy and companionship to someone that just wants her as the only dog and will treasure her as the special girl that she truly is. If you are interested in this girl please write to ccrtennessee@gmail.com She is ready for a new and fresh start.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 10, 2025, 10:20 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.PALOMO was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas and will be travelling to  Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine on Saturday, 8 March where he will wait for her forever family to find him. We are accepting applications from families interested in giving this sweet boy his forever home. We will update pictures and information when he has arrived and settled in. PALOMO is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, is on monthly preventatives, microchipped, weighs around 73 pounds and is around 3 years old. The shelter volunteer stated dog walked well on leash, he is treat driven, was a little shy but wagged his tail while he was in the lobby.  (Rescue comments - it is important to take into account when reading these comments that these dogs are in a strange environment with a lot of dogs, and they are learning about each other in a very small space of time, it is high stimulation environment, also often the first time they have had exercise with other dogs.  Comments are from volunteers, not trainers or behavio rists). We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. PALOMO is available for adoption for an adoption fee of $550, as noted he is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine and families are required to complete and submit an  adoption application and when approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and hopefully take home this sweet boy. Applications are processed with 24 hours of them being received. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application   HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see   HERE Age: 1 year  Weight: 70 lbs. This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Meet Chloe! This sweet, loving girl looks to be about a year old, and likely a Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix. She is a very smart pup and a quick learner. She walks on a leash well, is comfortable in her crate, housetrained, and knows lots of commands including sit, wait, down, and come. She likes toys and loves chewing on bones! Chloe had a tough start in life but is a very happy, easygoing dog, ready to find her new forever home. She was abandoned around 7-8 months old in the woods and has not had a very steady home life, but is doing okay in her more recent foster home. She has been living in a heated garage since early December with monitored socialization with the foster's two dogs and limited house time and excursions. When she does interact with the other dogs, she definitely has herder/referee tendencies. She is not aggressive but runs into the other dogs or will put her paw on them.   Since we don't know much about her past, we think it will be important for her to be in a quiet home with someone who can dedicate the time she needs to making her comfortable and at ease in her new environment. She is a fairly cautious and timid dog (also afraid of fireworks and similar loud noises), so we would not recommend a busy urban home or one with kids or other dogs. A fenced in yard would be great for her because that is all she knows so far, and has not yet gotten used to dense neighborhood walks. It will be very important for her new family to "keep her world small" for a while to build her trust and slowly introduce her to new people and experiences.  Chloe is a very kind and gentle dog. She loves to have her chest and tummy rubbed! She is a fast learner and eager to please, so we are confident that in the right environment, she will be the perfect lovable addition to your home.   An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see  HERE  for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website:  Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org)   **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 29, 2025, 7:07 pm
