Dog Name: Scott Breed: Great Pyrenees mix Sex: male (neutered) Age: 5 months Weight: 45lbs Medical Needs: Remainder of puppy shots. Separation anxiety. Housebroken: A work in progress. He does very well on a schedule and is learning how to tell us he needs to go out. Crate Trained: A work in progress. He does need to be led to the crate and will also benefit from a calming treat prior to getting into the crate. Good in the Car: Yes. He needs assistance getting in the car, he can get out on his own Good on a Leash: Yes. Energy Level: Very laid back for a puppy his age Need a Fenced-in Yard: not necessarily, he will need to be walked frequently as he does love being outside. Dog Friendly: yes If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive home? Yes. Cat Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Yes If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? 5 years and older with proper supervision. Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Scott is very nervous. He seems to have separation anxiety. He’s timid going outside and timid coming back in. Overall he is a more laid back dog that sometimes just needs extra reassurance going from room to room, inside to outside. He loves to be loved and wants to be wherever his people are. He WILL need a family that is patient and will work with him on his anxiety. Housebroken: Yes Crate trained: Yes, the crate is her safe space Good in the car: takes some convincing to get in but enjoys it once driving Good on a leash: Yes, very easy to walk Energy level: Low Need a fenced in yard: No Dog Friendly: Yes If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? Would benefit greatly from another dog being in the home to help boost confidence in a new place. Cat Friendly? Did well during her cat test but tries to chase bunnies in the yard. Kid Friendly: no children in current foster home. Would likely do well with children who get to know her and are gentle. If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Any with proper supervision. Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Marta is a sweet gal who loves attention and a good pat. Absolutely adores being outdoors. She takes a bit to gain confidence in a new home but once she does she will be your best friend. When she first came into the rescue she did not eat for almost two weeks or want to touch hardwood floor. She was so nervous to be in a house for the first time and everything was so new. Throughout it all she maintained a kind and careful demeanor. She is gaining more confidence every day and would thrive in a home that gives her a chance to experience life as a pet. Dog Name: Charmin Breed: Great Pyrenees Mix Sex: Male Age: 6 months Weight: 50 lbs. + Medical Needs: Remainder of puppy shots Housebroken: If kept on a schedule, he does very well. Needs someone home to let him out frequently since he is a puppy. Crate trained: Yes, sleeps all night in the crate. When I have him blocked off in the room that has his crate in it and his person isn’t there, he will lay down in his crate. His safe place. Good in the car: Yes, he needs help by helping him in, since he’s u sure. Best to be kept tethered and will get comfortable and lay down. Good on a leash: He walks nicely on leash, Charmin walks right next to you or behind you. If he see’s a bunny he will tug a little but I can redirect easily. Energy level: For being a gentle giant, and my house being pretty laid back he has mild energy for a puppy. Very chilled. Need a fenced in yard: Charmin would do best with a fenced in yard. He’s going to be a big dog and needs a lot of room. Dog Friendly: Yes,he has been living with my 60lb poodle, since he’s in shut down for two weeks he hasn’t been in close contact to dogs but seems submissive. He does shy away from dogs at first big or small. He does warm up with his gentle demeanor. If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? Charmin doesn’t need another dog. Cat Friendly? He has seen my cats around for the last 2 weeks. He has been intrigued by wanting to sniff them, but once they hiss at him he will either back away or sometimes he will bark at them. Once redirected he’s fine. Kid Friendly: He just spent the night at another foster that has two preteen boys. Charmin warmed up to the milder son. He is shy to loud noises. Since he’s already over 50lb at 6 months , he might knock a toddler over. If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? 10 years of age and older with proper supervision. He’s a big puppy and doesn’t know his size. Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them. Charmin is a special dog, his characteristics makes me see him as a gentle giant. He is a little shy, since not having contact with people and a house. GRR rescued him and siblings from living outside in a kennel in West Virginia. Charmin is starting to play with toys and fetching his ball. He didn’t mind me giving him a bath or brushing him. He likes belly rubs and petting. He loves his person and will stay by my side. Charmin takes time to warm up to anything new. Charmin’s new trait is to watch the birds from the windows in the house. He can get very excited about them. Needs to be redirected. He’s a puppy and needs someone to be home most of his day and nights. Lots of training involved. Dog Name: Bippy Breed: Great Pyrenees Sex: Male Age: 6 months Weight: 50 lbs Medical Needs: not really a need, but adopter needs to be aware that Bippy has a hearing impairment. He seems to be able to hear some on the one side, but the other, nada. He doesn’t let it phase him though. He will just require a little extra training, and he will be all good in the hood!! Housebroken: Yes, if kept on a routine schedule. He will run to the door when he has to use the restroom. Crate trained: Yes. He ignores you and goes the other way when you tell him to get in the crate. Bippy would rather be with his person than in a crate. However, he is a good boy when you guide him into the crate by his collar. No accidents ever in his crate! Good in the car: Bippy is just fine in the car! We are still working on the fact that getting in the car is not a scary thing. Good on a leash: Yes, very easy to walk Energy level: Low Need a fenced in yard: Not necessarily, but if you don’t have one he will need to be leash walked. With his hearing impairment, his recall will not be up to par with that of other dogs unless adoptive family really puts some work in with training time and tools like an ecollar. Without doing so, he’s not a dog that will able to be off leash outside of a securely fenced area. Dog Friendly: Yes! If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? Would benefit greatly from another dog being in the home to help boost confidence in a new place. However, he will be fine no matter where he goes - as long as he has his person! Cat Friendly? Did well during her cat test. Kid Friendly: Yes! Very gentle with kids! He is a big boy but very sweet! He is a clunky puppy but approaches slow and soft towards kids. If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Any with proper supervision. Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Bippy is the best puppy ever with a great temperament! His confidence level is continuing to be built and he is learning the household daily routines quick. He is quiet in the crate and will run to the door to tell you he needs to potty outside. Cuddling is key! Playing is second! And lounging around and sleeping with the pack is third best. There is not a mean bone in this boys body! He knows how to wrestle with my dogs and knows how to keep it calm when necessary. He eats and drinks just fine. He likes to chew bones and follow me around in my back yard while I do outside yard work.
