Story
Updated 12/27/2023: Moose is a precious Great Pyrenees/Coonhound/Husky mix. Unlike some of our foster dogs, Moose's breed mix isn't a guess; we do know who his parents were - and one of his littermates had a DNA test. He was born 11/21/2021 and is active, curious and friendly. The adoption fee for Moose is $200. He has been neutered and microchipped; he's up-to-date on his vaccines. He's been dewormed and is receiving monthly flea and heartworm prevention. Moose has been living at one of our foster homes since he was a puppy, but they have made the difficult decision that he would do better as an only dog. As a juvenile, he can be a bully at times and living as part of a pack isn't bringing out his best manners/personality. (Examples of his intimidation tactics include blocking a hallway and not letting other dogs pass, and taking chew toys from other dogs.) His foster family loves him and wants him to live his best life - preferably one where he have a loving one-on-one relationship with a human. Moose would love to have a full-time job! Moose is house trained and uses a doggie door with ease. He's used to a lot of indoor/outdoor freedom within a large, fenced farm. He knows how to sit and takes treats from humans gently. He has not been around cats or small children. If you want more information about Moose, call or text Jody at 352-316-5155 or email her at SCRWestLevy@gmail.com. Thanks for your interest in adopting - and for your patience as we are an all-volunteer rescue! (We do keep our posts current! Sometimes we have to repost a pup when an adoption falls through. Thanks for understanding.) - - - - - PS. Second Chance Rescue posts our pets on AdoptAPet.com. While we are grateful that AdoptAPet shares their information with partner sites, including Overstock and PetHarbor and others, we don't have any control over how frequently those partner sites update their content. Therefore, if you're interested in a particular animal, we encourage you to visit www.adoptapet.com/2ndChRescue/ for the most up-to-date status, description, pictures and/or video of a particular pet.

Story
Blue is a Great Pyrenees that came from a hoarding situation. He has been with us for six months now and everyone at OFSARNOF just loves him! He is a leaner and loves attention and just wants to be around people. He has his quirk of sometimes resource guarding so needs someone who understands the breed and can handle a very large dog but this dog is so worth the time and effort! He gets along with dogs as long as there isn't food/treats around and is great with cats, chickens, sheep etc however he cannot be a successful livestock guardian dog due to his wanting to always be with his people. Great farm dog otherwise!

Story
Meet Ranger, he was born, May 16th 2023. He is a very attentive pup. We brought him home hoping we could have a forever home for him. Over the year, we have found out my daughter has serious allergies to his coat and it’s terrible to see a child suffer. He sits and shakes paw on command and is super loving.

Story
Slinky is a good boy and the perfect adventure buddy. He has lots of energy and loves to go on hikes, runs and paddling! He would do best with an outdoorsy family who has some space for him to run or time to take him to the park. He does great with other dogs who want to play and chase and has been keeping his foster sister Patty energized and playful. Slinky is a young, curious pup who would benefit from lots of chew toys and some gentle reminders that shoes don't fall into that category. :) He's a smart dog and some training would go a long way. Bring your kids and dog(s) to meet this goofy and loyal pup!
