Story
Updated 12/27/2023: Moose is a precious Great Pyrenees/Coonhound/Husky mix. Unlike some of our foster dogs, Moose's breed mix isn't a guess; we do know who his parents were - and one of his littermates had a DNA test. He was born 11/21/2021 and is active, curious and friendly. The adoption fee for Moose is $200. He has been neutered and microchipped; he's up-to-date on his vaccines. He's been dewormed and is receiving monthly flea and heartworm prevention. Moose has been living at one of our foster homes since he was a puppy, but they have made the difficult decision that he would do better as an only dog. As a juvenile, he can be a bully at times and living as part of a pack isn't bringing out his best manners/personality. (Examples of his intimidation tactics include blocking a hallway and not letting other dogs pass, and taking chew toys from other dogs.) His foster family loves him and wants him to live his best life - preferably one where he have a loving one-on-one relationship with a human. Moose would love to have a full-time job! Moose is house trained and uses a doggie door with ease. He's used to a lot of indoor/outdoor freedom within a large, fenced farm. He knows how to sit and takes treats from humans gently. He has not been around cats or small children. If you want more information about Moose, call or text Jody at 352-316-5155 or email her at SCRWestLevy@gmail.com. Thanks for your interest in adopting - and for your patience as we are an all-volunteer rescue! (We do keep our posts current! Sometimes we have to repost a pup when an adoption falls through. Thanks for understanding.) - - - - - PS. Second Chance Rescue posts our pets on AdoptAPet.com. While we are grateful that AdoptAPet shares their information with partner sites, including Overstock and PetHarbor and others, we don't have any control over how frequently those partner sites update their content. Therefore, if you're interested in a particular animal, we encourage you to visit www.adoptapet.com/2ndChRescue/ for the most up-to-date status, description, pictures and/or video of a particular pet.

Story
Blue is a Great Pyrenees that came from a hoarding situation. He has been with us for six months now and everyone at OFSARNOF just loves him! He is a leaner and loves attention and just wants to be around people. He has his quirk of sometimes resource guarding so needs someone who understands the breed and can handle a very large dog but this dog is so worth the time and effort! He gets along with dogs as long as there isn't food/treats around and is great with cats, chickens, sheep etc however he cannot be a successful livestock guardian dog due to his wanting to always be with his people. Great farm dog otherwise!

Story
Not a breeder. Now that that's out of the way. Garfield was the firstborn of the litter. He is very playful and sweet. 9-week-old loveable pup that has been around kids and adults. Not too keen around cats but the cats are really the ones that don't care for him. They really like being around their human. Really want them to go to good homes that understand the breeds they come from. Dad is full bloodied Great Pyrenees with dew paws, no papers. Mom is half German Shephard and half Husky, no papers. Dad is 100lbs. Mom is 50lbs.

Marlin is ready to be your Easter Bunny! He is 4 month old Great Pyrenees, Anatolian Shepherd and Lab mix pup! Marlin favorite time in the world is to be outside and run around the yard. He loves to pay with his siblings and other dogs. This sweet boy will be on a larger side when fully grown, so he would like a family with a large backyard. He is great with kids, dogs and people of all ages. He is potty trained and crate trained. He is fostered in Booksville, FL. If you are interested in adoption Marlin, please call 954-628-2175.

Story
Kodiak's owner, my dear friend, passed away April 1st. Kodiak is 6 years old, 110 lbs. I will cover vet, meds, food, grooming, etc. costs, as needed, for the rest of his life. Light brown eyes and nose. You should not have cats, dogs or kids! He and his sister, Betty White, who is 9 years old and 85 lbs., should stay together because Kodiak has been with her since he was 4 months old. Her costs will also be covered, as needed, for the rest of her life too. We're near Orlando FL, but I will drive out of state if needed for the right home after screening. Both dogs need to live indoors with AC with access to a fenced yard. I cannot keep as I have two Poms and my roommate has 2 cats. Currently they're staying on my street with a friend.

Story
Hello! I'm such a sweet girl who has already been through a lot in my short life. I came to VOCAL from the local shelter with an injured back leg. Come to find out, I needed a complete hip replacement from a previous injury. The wonderful vets at UF were able to perform the surgery and I've been healing really well but it is a long journey! I have a lot of energy, I'm really smart, and absolutely love people. I'm not very good with small animals and have never been around kids. I'm looking for a comfy home to relax in!
