Story
Hi! We are a group of seven pups who traveled all the way from a shelter in South Carolina to Big Dog Ranch, hoping for a second chance at life. We're not the tiny, fluffy puppies everyone rushes to adopt. We're what people call "teenagers." Sometimes that means we're overlooked because we're no longer babies. But we hope you'll look a little deeper, because our hearts are just as full of love. Life before the ranch wasn't always easy. We learned to survive instead of simply being puppies. One thing we're still working on is sharing our food. When you've spent your life wondering where your next meal will come from, it's hard to believe there will always be enough. We know it isn't the right way to feel, but every day we're learning that we don't have to be afraid anymore. With patience, kindness, and full bowls, we're beginning to trust that tomorrow will bring another meal. Since arriving at Big Dog Ranch, we've discovered what it feels like to be safe. We have soft beds, full bellies, medical care, and people who believe in us. We're dog-friendly, love meeting new people, and every day we're learning new skills that will help us become wonderful family companions. We're so thankful to everyone at Big Dog Ranch for never giving up on us and for showing us that love, patience, and understanding can heal even the deepest fears. Now all that's missing is a family to call our own. We promise that if you give us a chance, we'll spend the rest of our lives showing you just how grateful we are. Could one of us be the missing piece of your family?

Story
Meet Kalaya! She is a 4 year old Great Pyrenees with a soul as vast and gentle as her stature, currently navigating the transition from a familiar home routine to the bustling life of a rescue. While she is understandably nervous after the sudden change in her environment, her resilient spirit is already beginning to shine through as she learns to trust the new faces around her. She is looking for a patient, active household that appreciates the "guardian" nature of her breed—a place where she can have the space to decompress and the consistency to regain her booming confidence. Kalaya would thrive with a family that understands she may be a quiet observer at first, offering her a soft place to land and the time to realize she is once again safe and cherished. Once she feels secure, her future family will be rewarded with the deep, steady loyalty and serene presence that only a Pyrenees can provide.
