Hi, I'm Sam. I'm a very sweet dog and super laidback. I take life one moment at a time. Why worry about tomorrow, it'll only get in the way of enjoying today! I was found by a couple in the Fillmore area. I went right to them and they brought me here. It was discovered that I had some type of accident with my tail. I may have sustained some nerve damage because I have a hard time knowing when "I've got to go." As a result, I must be an outside dog only. Those wanting to adopt me must ensure I have some shelter from the extreme weather, a doghouse with straw in the winter and shade in the summer. I don't like being alone so a place where I have a buddy is ideal.

Eclair was found injured on the side of the road. No owner was ever found, but several people admitted seeing her roaming along the road for a couple of weeks. It was frigid and water sources were limited. Eclair was dehydrated, weak, thin, and had an injury on her hind leg when she was finally spotted and caught by someone who cared. Eclair has some food aggression towards other dogs. We haven't seen this directed towards us (people) but she will growl at another dog when she's got food around. Feed her separately and with children I'd be cautious.Eclair is very timid. She's unsure of new places, won't walk on a leash, and her method of handling scary things is just giving up and hoping things all go away. She's going to need kindness and consistency to begin to build her confidence up. The good news is she actually LOVES people. She's a total clown, does little hops, and play bows and will come up for pets...in a space she feels safe in. She was good in my car for the ride here, no car sickness and stayed in the back seat. She is estimated to be 6-8 months old and was underweight at 60 pounds. She's a big fluffy girl! At Autumn Acres Animal Rescue we believe each individual animal matters. We take in special cases some of which will stay with us as a sanctuary dog.If the animal is listed as a Socially Imperfect Dog this means they have special needs and special requirements for potential adopters.If the animal is listed as a Socially Imperfect RESIDENT this animal is NOT available for adoption and is one of our sanctuary residents. 🪿Introducing Goose🪿 Goose is a female Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix. She was taken in by a person who didn’t want her to be euthanized when her original owner needed to get rid of her, but that person took on more than she could handle and asked for help. She is a super sweet girl who still acts like a puppy. We are thinking she is between 1-2 years old. She has never been a working dog, she has only known soft couches and chairs and the indoors. Yes she loves the outdoors, but she just wants to be where her people are. She’ll become your shadow and she is not ashamed to beg for food or attention. She does have a problem hovering near other dogs when they are eating, so know it may be best to separate Goose and any other animals when they eat. Goose does jump, we are trying to work with her. So we believe she would do best with older kiddos in case she forgets her size, unless you are willing to work with her and not give up on her. She does know “sit” and since she is super food motivated, we think she’d do great with more basic training. Goose has been in a home with small dogs, big dogs, and cats. She sometimes chased the cats, but never tried to hurt them, she just wants to play. Most of the dogs were older and they didn’t appreciate her rough housing. We wanted to get her pretty face out there, as the noisy kennel is already stressing her out. She is heartworm negative and just needs microchipped once we find her furever family.
