Belize is a 3-year-old Great Pyrenees/German Shepherd mix who came to us through animal control and is now looking for a calm, understanding home. This lovely girl has a very sweet and gentle nature, but she can be quite shy when first meeting new people or experiencing new environments.Belize will need a patient adopter who can give her the time and space she needs to build confidence and feel secure. I unexpectedly took in Sunny in October after finding out someone I know abandoned him by dumping him out by the highway. This is my first time caring for a dog, and it's been really hard for me especially since I was unprepared for it. All I knew was that I didn't want to let him die outside and had no plan other than that. Since then, I have been caring for him but I will be unable to after the end of my lease as I have to move and cannot bring him with me. Sunny has medical issues but the vet has said that his overall health is good. He vomits several times a day, likely due to stomach acid reflux. He takes medication twice a day and needs to be fed several small meals a day in order to prevent his stomach from being empty too long to reduce the vomiting. He is also half bald, but the vet doesn't know why. Sunny is potty trained. He knows basic obedience but only in Vietnamese, but we are practicing English. He gets along well with my cat and loves people and strangers.
