Story
Beautiful Betsy is an 18-month-old purebred Great Pyrenees who truly lives up to her name. At 85 pounds, she’s a stunning girl with a heart to match—gentle, affectionate, and full of quiet sweetness. Betsy recently lost the only family she has ever known due to circumstances beyond her control. A divorce forced her devoted human mom and four children to move into a small home without a yard, and with great love and heartbreak, her mom chose what was best for Betsy’s future rather than holding onto her.   Betsy is very familiar with family life and has been raised around children, other dogs, and even cats. She once had four puppies of her own and showed nothing but tenderness and devotion as a mother, which speaks volumes about her nurturing nature. While she has not been used as a livestock guardian—and we do not want that life for her—she is perfectly suited for a home where she can enjoy both indoor comfort and outdoor space. Betsy dreams of a soft place to nap, a couch to share, and evenings spent lounging nearby as you snack and unwind, happily serving as a fluffy pillow or loyal movie companion.   She walks nicely on a leash, has good house manners, and can be crated for reasonable periods, though she should not be left confined for long workdays. Betsy travels well in the car and would make a wonderful road-trip partner. Like the classic Great Pyrenees, she has a calm, happy demeanor and a peaceful presence that fills a home with warmth.   We are hoping to find Betsy a stable, loving forever home with a securely fenced yard, ideally half an acre or more, where she can stretch her legs and enjoy the outdoors safely. If you feel called to help this special girl begin her next chapter—one filled with love, comfort, and belonging—please reach out to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 18, 2026, 3:24 pm

Story
Laney (approximately 75 pounds) was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Texas. She is absolutely magnificent - friendly, social, outgoing, and cuddly! Laney loves people and is always happy to be around them, but she does not jump up and her greetings are very polite. She is excellent at reading the room and adjusting her behavior accordingly - when it's time to settle, Laney is a calm girl sitting pretty or laying down waiting. But when it's time to get silly, no one does it better - Laney throws play bows like it's her job, and her butt wiggles so much, you wonder if she's going to take flight❤️ Our perfect princess got along well with the dogs that she was introduced to at her previous shelter, and she has been friendly towards the dogs that she has encountered here. Her gorgeous baby blue eyes will get your attention - is there a Husky in her gene pool somewhere? - but her enchanting personality will keep you coming back for more Laney time!If you'd like to meet Laney and all her friends at the New Hampshire SPCA, please visit our Adoption Center during our open hours: 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day except Wednesdays (closed). Have questions? Call (603) 772-2921 ext. 110 or email info@nhspca.org today. Primary Color: White Weight: 34 Age: 1yrs 0mths 3wks

Story
Meet Bruin! Bruin was brought in when his owner sadly passed away. We don't know too much about his history but he is quite the happy doofus who loves other dogs! He would make a great companion for an active home. Due to his size a dog savvy owner would be good for him!
