Story
Who could resist this silly smile? Meet Sheldon, a 3 year-old Great Pyrenees/ Lab mix who is bursting with energy and waiting to brighten your life! Sheldon is an affectionate, giant goofball (100 lbs.), who loves walks, running, cuddles and is a champion toy fetcher! He's searching for an active family who has ample time to dedicate to exercise, training, socialization and of course, snuggling! Sheldon will thrive in a home that has plenty of space for him to explore. Being a lover of the great outdoors, he previously lived on a very large property. Sadly, when his previous family down-sized, he didn't do well in smaller space. As you can imagine, being kenneled in a shelter is very stressful for Sheldon and he needs out where he will be a happy pup again! Sheldon's future family will need to assure he is able to get the physical and mental stimulation he needs. He will need a home where he is the only canine king and may be okay with a dog-savvy cat. Sheldon would do best with older children due to his size and energy level. Do you think this big lug may be a great fit for you? Fill out an application and come meet Sheldon!

Story
Posted February 2024 Boone is the sweetest soul! He is 65 lbs of sweetness! Boone is living with a female dog and his foster parents in Maine and he is just the most loving and good-looking boy! Their mom is a Great Pyrenees and the dad was most likely a shepherd mix. They still have some growing to do since they are only 10 months old. Whoever adopts Boone will be getting a GREAT and well-adjusted dog To apply to adopt Boone or any of our sweeties, please check out our application. Please note: We do not have a physical location, but we are supported by a network of wonderful foster homes primarily in southern Maine. A dog will need to be visited by a prospective adopter in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and comfortable. Thank you for considering rescue!

Story
Posted February 2024 Ben is the most adorable and sweetest boy! He is 58 lbs at 10 months so he will be a big bundle of sweetness once he is full grown. He is hanging out with lots of dogs and humans when he gets to go to doggy day care with his foster mom. Mom is a great pyrenees or mix, and dad was possibly a shepherd or mix. Whoever adopts Ben will be getting a GREAT and well-adjusted dog! Interested in meeting Ben or one of our other sweeties? Check out our adoption application. Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are in foster care throughout southern Maine primarily. Our expectation is that a potential adopter will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved. Thank you for considering rescue.

Story
Goose is a shy but sweet 3-year-old Great Pyrenees who's looking for a family that is guardian breed savvy. He really enjoys going for nature walks to investigate all the wonderful smells. With new people he is hesitant at first but once he's had a chance to build some trust he is all about leaning in for scratches. He kind of has that aloof Pyrenees demeanor but does enjoy doing zoomies in our fenced play-yard, and LOVES playing with all the toys. Goose is hoping to find a home where he'll have a fenced yard to run and zoom in. When it comes to making friends with other dogs, he is selective with what he deems "friend" and prefers any potential dog friends be females only. He is looking to be the only dog in the home, but may not mind having some structured playdates once comfortable with new friends. He would prefer any children in his new home be dog savvy and older so they can understand his boundaries.

Story
Meet cuddly Mario. He is a brown, dusted with black, and white Great Pyrenees mix born 12/25/2022. He is going to be big! He is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and has been given a ProHeart 6 for heartworm protection. His adoption donation is $450.00 and the transport fee $165.00. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
My name is Chachi and I am a very handsome and loving Great Pyrenees boy that is 18 months old and only 98 pounds.  I am big but NOT HUGE!   You see me smiling?Well, I do this all the time because I am a happy dog and I want people to know that I am very friendly and ready to be petted.   I really do like all people and all dogs that I meet.  I really, really love children too!   They say that my breed requires a fenced yard and I have to say that is a really good idea.  I like spending time outside and you really don’t want to have to sit and watch me for safety reasons if you don’t have a secured fence.   So…. if you have a physical fenced yard then Critter Cavalry Rescue would like to speak with you.  I think that if you love BIG dogs that I am a rather handsome dude to consider.  Mud puddles might NOT be my friend but big snow falls and deep banks would make me really happy!  I could stay clean very easily.   I am almost housebroken, and crate trained.    I would like to be your inside cuddle/lovebug and maybe help you start the new year off to a nice white fluffy start!  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com ASAP and ask all the questions you want about filling out an adoption form.    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 4, 2024, 9:54 pm
