Vegas is a 1 year old female Great Pyrenees who recently found her way into our care as a stray after being picked up by Harrison County Animal Control. She did have a collar on but sadly her family did not come for her. The Pyrenees breed make amazing companion and working dogs. As a large breed dog they are always considered gentle giants. They have thick waterproof double coats which are perfect for cold changing weather conditions. However, this also means that in summer time they need lots of shade, shelter, and grooming upkeep so they do not overheat. With a calm demeanor they tend to be great with other dogs, livestock, and kids. Vegas is an exact description of her breed, 67lbs, will be spayed upon adoption, and is heartworm negative. UPDATE!!&#226&#156&#168 Meet Gavin. This sweet boy and his siblings found themselves at a local overcrowded shelter! They are adorable Great Pyrenees mix - we think with lab. They were extremely thin but have put on weight and are loving the good life. They are around 12-14 weeks old. Gavin weighs 15 lbs and we think will be more on the lab size as an adult, but they have double dew claws which is definitely a GP trait so their size may fool us! They are playful and sweet. They are utd, altered and ready for their forever homes!  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $195 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Thank you!
