Despite his hearing impairment, Knox is a happy and easy-going guy. His sweet and mild nature instantly warms the hearts of those around him. However, he DOES NOT like sharing his food with people or animals, becoming very defensive and possessive. Feeding time for Knox should look like this...fed alone in a room with a closed door and not let out until he's done eating. Knox must be the only dog in the household and needs a household without children.Knox's ideal forever home is one that recognizes and embraces his distinctive qualities. Spud was surrendered to us because his owner couldn't afford to feed him. He is a very shy boy but once he gets to know you he will become your best buddy. He loves to play in the back yard with other dogs but is not leash trained yet.All animals must be neutered/spayed prior to finalization of adoption. All animals will be microchipped and have the appropriate vaccinations for the age of the animal. All animals will be treated for worms and flea/tick prevention.

Koda is a 4 yo male great Pyrenees and lab mix. We bought koda in New Mexico at our first duty station. Hes great with children and other animals, has never bitten anyone or anything. We moved to Kansas 3+ years ago and that’s when the peeing started. He started to pee every time he’s in his crate and around the house. He’s been evaluated by several vets to rule out any medical issues. It’s purely behavioral. We recently moved to Missouri for the military and the house we were given does NOT have a backyard. I would like to rehome him somewhere with LOTS of land or space outside, he’s a big dog and needs lots of room that we just cannot give him. I feel like he’s not living life to the fullest with us in such a small space. He’s loyal, and so sweet. He considers himself a lap dog even with his large size. I want to give him more than I can.

Pancake is a 5-year-old spayed female Great Pyrenees and Doberman mix, weighing in at a solid 75 pounds. She's a big, goofy, loving girl who is having a difficult time in the shelter environment, and she's hoping to find her way back into a home soon. Her personality is exactly what you'd hope for in a dog her size: friendly, affectionate, and endlessly enthusiastic. She's good with dogs, cats, and children, and she has never once shown aggression toward anyone. The only mealtime quirk worth noting is that she prefers to eat alone, so giving her space at feeding time works best. Beyond that, she's simply happy to be near her people. On the training front, Pancake is both house trained and crate trained, and she knows "no," "lay down," and "sit." She walks with the kind of energy that earns her the description "a plow horse on a leash" — she's not trying to drag anyone around, she's just genuinely excited about wherever the walk is headed and doesn't quite realize she weighs 75 pounds. She has no behavior issues beyond a bit of anxiety when left alone, so a home where someone is around much of the day, or one with a steady routine, would suit her well. The reason she needs a new home has nothing to do with Pancake herself. Her owner took her in to keep a family member from becoming homeless after that person's landlord refused to allow pets. Since then, the owner has faced several health issues and is no longer able to work, which has made it impossible to continue caring for her. Pancake is a big-hearted, easygoing companion who just needs a soft place to land. She'd thrive with a family, a couple, or a single person looking for a loyal shadow who doesn't mind a little leash enthusiasm. If you have room in your home and your heart for a 75-pound goofball who has never met a stranger she didn't like, Pancake is ready to meet you.
