Story
Meet Gardenia, a majestic Great Pyrenees with a heart as vast as the landscapes she adores. Her snowy fur and gentle eyes mirror the serene beauty of her namesake, promising a companion who brings peace and joy to every moment. Gardenia embodies the sweetness and gentleness that her breed is renowned for, making her the perfect addition to a loving family ready to embrace her kind spirit. At two years old, Gardenia is in the prime of her life, fully grown with a calm and composed demeanor that endears her to all who meet her. She thrives in open spaces where her adventurous spirit can roam freely, exploring every nook with the curiosity of a much younger pup. Despite her size, she moves with grace, her presence in a home as comforting as a gentle breeze through a blooming garden. For Gardenia, a home with a spacious yard or access to nature trails would be a slice of heaven. Adopting a Great Pyrenees like Gardenia comes with the joy of knowing you have a loyal friend for life, but it also requires some breed-specific knowledge. Her new family should be prepared for the responsibility of grooming her luxurious coat to keep her comfortable and healthy, as well as providing the gentle guidance and training that dogs of her intelligence and independence thrive on. Gardenia is looking for a forever home where her gentle nature will be cherished and where she can have the space she needs to explore and relax. If you have the heart and the room for this beautiful soul, Gardenia promises to fill your life with unwavering affection and countless peaceful moments.

Story
Meet Cupid, who comes to us from the Rowan County Animal Shelter. Cupid is an 83 lb., Pyrenees/Lab mix and approximately 8 years old. He was in an accident and was hurting pretty badly, when a kind stranger found him in a ditch and got out of his truck and took Cupid to the shelter. He is recovered now and is doing great. He does tilt his head a bit, but this is just one thing that makes him more adorable. Cupid tends to be clumsy at times, due to his head injury, and is heartworm positive. He has received his Proheart shot and Doxy procedure, which we will continue until he tests negative. This boy wants so much to be loved and is very smart. Cupid is housetrained and does require a fenced in yard. He is a little scared of getting into cars and does have a bit of separation anxiety when left alone (likely from his trauma) and loves to be with his person. He shows zero aggression to people and other dogs and is nothing but a gentle giant. If you are interested in Cupid, please reach out to us for an application.

Story
Quick Facts: Breed: Great Pyrenees Mix Estimated Birthday: 03/01/2022 Size: Currently 85#, we imagine he may fill out around 100#. Hi, I’m Fabian, a 2-year-old Great Pyrenees. I just recently was rescued from a bad situation where I was severely underfed and neglected. I’m starting to gain my weight back and am currently 85# but should top out around 100. Because my previous owner wasn’t able to properly brush and groom me, I’m being treated for an ear infection. I’m house trained and am crate trained. I’m pretty good on a leash but do pull a little but that’s because I’ve not had a ton of practice. I love taking in all the smells and enjoy exploring the yard. I will need at least a 4’ tall fence to keep me safe. I’m great with all animals and my current foster home even has chickens, goats, donkeys and cattle and I do great with them as well. If you are looking for a gentle giant who is very affectionate and highly adaptable, then I’m your guy! Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Fabian is $458 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Due to our thorough adoption process including home visits, we limit our adoptions to local families in the greater Charlotte area. - If you have any additional questions, email us at dogs@c2cnd.org and we will respond as soon as possible!

Blue Flint Animal Hospital described Bijou as an All American dog, a Heinz 57 combination of breeds, but we think she has some Great Pyrenees in her.  The vet esimated year of birth is 2021. She is shy and would most appreciate a calm environment.  She will need an owner who is patient with her as she learns to trust.  She's very sweet and loves affection. ~~ Adoption donation $300 .
