Story
(DOB 3/26/2024) Introducing General, a charming pup with a heart of gold! Though he may be a bit shy when first meeting new faces, once he warms up and trusts you, he transforms into a giant teddy bear filled with love and joy. With his exuberant personality and happy-go-lucky demeanor, General is bound to bring endless smiles to your home. This delightful canine enjoys nothing more than belly rubs and gentle pets. He walks well on a leash and is eager to learn even more with the help of his treat-motivated spirit! A quick learner, he thrives on positive reinforcement, making every training session a fun adventure. General keeps his kennel clean and is well-mannered, but he doesn’t like being left alone. He would thrive in a stay-at-home or work-from-home family where he can soak up all the love and attention he craves. He is especially great with kids, though his playful exuberance means he may not realize how big he is, so watch out for those unexpected knocks! One of General's greatest joys is playing with other dogs—he absolutely shines in their company! Therefore, he’ll only be considered for homes with at least one other dog-friendly canine buddy to share his playful spirit and companionship with. While he’s incredibly social, he does have a propensity to roam if given the chance, so a securely fenced yard is necessary for his safety and happiness. General is also a great sharer when it comes to tug toys, but food is his treasure, and he prefers to enjoy his meals solo.  If you’re looking for a sweet and loyal companion who will fill your days with laughter and love, General is the perfect match! Come meet him and see how this gentle giant can steal your heart!  As part of General’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt General, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2297736##

Story
Meet Arlo – Your Loyal, Loving Guardian! This majestic Great Pyrenees is the definition of calm, sweet, and gentle. Currently being fostered in a loving home, he’s shown us just how affectionate and well-mannered he can be. He loves cuddling on the couch, lounging around the house, and playing with our two resident dogs – he’s a big fan of furry friends! True to his breed, he has strong guardian instincts and takes his role of protector seriously. You’ll often find him laying by the front door or at the entrances to rooms, always keeping a quiet, watchful eye over the home. Because of this, he does best with slow introductions to new people and situations. He would thrive in a home with a couple or a single woman looking for companionship and a loyal protector. He prefers to be indoors during the hot summer months, but come winter? He’s in his element! Nothing makes him happier than stretching out in the snow and taking it all in – he’s built for the cold and loves it, but he is an Indoor companion. He can get a bit anxious on walks and may need some extra training, patience, and reassurance to help build his confidence in new environments. With the right support, he’ll continue to grow into the secure and well-rounded dog he’s meant to be. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal dog who will be both a cuddle buddy and a steadfast guardian, this gentle giant could be the perfect match for you. Breed: Great Pyrenees Age: 2-3 years old Neutered: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes Temperament: Calm, affectionate, protective Special Notes: May need additional training to build confidence on walks Ideal Home: Quiet environment with a couple or single adult, preferably with a fenced yard because outside time is awesome.

Story
Finley is a wonderful dog. He loves everyone! He does great with my 2 small dogs and cat. He is Not a working dog. He’s a couch potato. This is my predicament: I have another male GP that is 5 years old. Finley is 1 1/2 years old. Both are neutered. But they both are very protective of me and it has caused some intense aggression between them. I try my best to keep them separated but sometimes it’s difficult. The fights have now become a weekly occurrence at minimum and usually occur in near proximity to me. I will be moving into an RV in the next few months and it’s just not safe to have them where they can’t be separated. He loves being outside, but has been an inside dog. So a fenced yard would be ideal. He loves walks and walks well on a leash once he settles down. He does pull if he sees someone because he loves people. He had puppy shots but is only current on his rabies vaccine. I am more than happy to answer any questions about Finley so don’t hesitate to reach out.

Story
Arlo is only 2 yrs old and what we think is a mix between Pyrenees and Lab. Incredibly sweet loves other dogs, people and is amazing with my cats. Loves his zoomies but can also be a big snuggle buddy. Hes absolutely loves toys and bones. His favorite treat is anything chicken. Previous owner was going to put him down because she couldnt find a home for him. I took him in to find a loving home because he simply deserves that. Arlo needs a fenced in yard. We kennel when not home and i think that is best for Arlo. I Already have 3 dogs and with moving Arlo needs a family and i know someone out there can give him the same love i have.
