Story
Maverick is a stunning and robust young male dog, a blend of German Shepherd and Great Pyrenees breeds. Born around September 2022, he currently tips the scales at roughly 48 pounds. Maverick, along with his littermates, was abandoned on an isolated dirt road until their plight was brought to the attention our rescue organization. Having spent most of his life outdoors on a farm, he yearns for a warm home where he can be an indoor companion. Maverick enjoys engaging in playful activities such as chasing balls and frolicking around. He interacts well with female canines and selectively with male ones. His foster caregiver reports significant progress in leash training and has successfully taught him to sit obediently. Maverick is neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm and flea and tick treated and micro-chipped. $95 rescue adoption fee applies. If you would like an adoption application and to set up a meet and greet, E-Mail or call or text Lori at: 760-680-3713 Located in Grove, OK. More pictures and video available upon request

I AM SPONSORED! Thank you Scarlett and Landon for sponsoring me! Freckles is a 2 - 3 yr old male Great Pyrenees mix. He has a high energy level, so he would benefit from an active family with a fenced yard and plenty of space for daily exercise and play. He is loose and wiggly when greeting, and comes when called for snuggles and kisses. Freckles does moderately pull on a leash, but with basic obedience training, he should be walking like a champ in no time! He is food motivated, but does not yet know any commands. He mixes well with other dogs in a kennel, but is intensely interested in cats in the shelter environment. Dogs are generally tested with dogs of their own size; and dog meets with the resident dogs are always encouraged. Our cat test should be used as a general-purpose screening only to rule out overt aggression; we always recommend caution when introducing dogs to cats in the home. Recommendation on suitability of placement with children by their ages is based on behavioral observations including energy level and response to body handling. We never recommend leaving young children unsupervised with dogs, and we cannot guarantee the behavior of dogs with children, other pets, or cats. Behavior evaluations should be considered as a snapshot of the behavior of the dog at this point in time; JHS believes all dog families need to be prepared to invest time and energy into training as well as provide common sense management of their new dog. We always encourage family to do some research on the breeds or mixes of breeds prior to adoption as many can have some unique characteristics that may or may not fit into their families. Always remember that the majority of dogs at our shelter have been exposed to or may have kennel cough. Kennel cough is contagious to other dogs, please talk to your vet if you have any questions about kennel cough prior to adoption. Please ask your adoption counselor at time of adoption if you have any unanswered questions regarding illnesses and treatments of the pet that you are adopting. For more information about this dog or any others at our Shelter, please visit www.joplinhumane.org. We are the Joplin Humane Society in Joplin, Missouri. 417-623-3642. I HAVE A BUSINESS SPONSORSHIP! THANK YOU PAMPERED POOCH DAY SPA FOR MY BUSINESS SPONSORSHIP!

Remington is a 2 - 3 yr old male Great Pyrenees. He has a medium energy level, so he should fit well into most homes provided he receives a moderate amount of daily exercise and play. Story
Nova is a beautiful pure bred Great Pyrenees who is well trained and gets along well with dogs, cats, and children. Shes cuddly, very friendly, and loves all animals and just wants to be friends with everyone. Shes very calm and knows how to relax. She loves walks and being outside where she can smell for hours. She needs a backyard to be able to get that outside time. Shes a rescue and we aren’t sure about where she came from originally but she has gotten blood work to confirm that she is pure bred. All I want is for her to go to a loving home. She has a sister Lyla who we would prefer to go together.
