Story
Hi there… my name is Marmaduke 🐾🤍I’m a 3-year-old Great Pyrenees / Labrador Retriever mix, and I tip the scales at a whopping 110 pounds of gentle giant love. Even though I’m a big fella, I’ve got the biggest smile on my face and an even bigger heart to match. I never turn down a good belly rub… in fact, I think it’s one of life’s greatest joys. 🥰I absolutely love people and get along with everyone I’ve ever met. I’m a friendly, affectionate guy who enjoys giving kisses and being close to my humans. I haven’t been officially tested with small children yet, but with my gentle nature and proper introductions, I’d likely do just fine. 🤍Before coming to the shelter, I lived out in the country with other dogs of all sizes, and I got along great with them. I’m used to having space to roam and enjoy the outdoors. 🌿🐕I walk beautifully on a leash and don’t pull, which makes strolls nice and easy. I’m fully house trained, know how to use a doggie door, and I’m crate trained for overnight stays. I am a home body and traveling in a crate does makes me anxious. That said, being such a big guy, I definitely prefer a comfy couch or bed when I can get one! 🛋️One important thing to know about me is that I do have a long list of allergies and will need to avoid certain foods for the rest of my life to stay healthy. The good news is the hard work has already been done—I’ve had an extensive allergy test, and the results will go with me to help my future family care for me properly. ❤️The only reason I’m looking for a new home is because my previous owner passed away. I’m a great dog who has already known love—and now I’m hoping to find someone who will give me that same love again. All I really want is a person (or family) to share my days with, to lean on for belly rubs, and to love unconditionally. In return, I’ll be your loyal, gentle, kiss-giving companion. 💕📞 You can also call the shelter at 479-394-5682 to find out more about me. I’m ready for my next chapter… could it be with you? 🐾✨****************All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. If not already spayed/neutered, there may be a short delay between when you select this pet and when they are ready to go home.Breed and age are determined based on observable physical traits. Actual lineage and birth date are rarely known.Adoption Fees:-$60 for cats-$60 for dogs over 6 years-$80 for dogs 6 months old to 6 years-$100 for puppies up to 6 monthsCome visit our pets Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-2pm.
