MEET "BANDIT" TEXAS, HOUSTON LOCATION: HOUSTON TEXAS CONTACT: BigPawsK9FosterHouse@gmail.com Meet BANDIT – A True Gentleman with a Heart as Big as Texas! Breed: Great Pyrenees Age: Estimated 5 yrs old Neutered Male Up to date on vaccinations and preventatives Heartworm positive – thriving on slow-kill treatment Bandit’s story began on the streets of Houston, where he was found dodging traffic just days before the January snowstorm. He was in rough shape, suffering from a serious infection—but this resilient guy has made an incredible recovery and is now thriving in his foster home. True to his breed, Bandit is a calm, gentle soul with a sweet and affectionate nature. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and even cats, and he’s always up for an adventure—whether it’s a stroll through town or a car ride with his foster mom. Bandit is neutered, fully vetted, and receiving monthly preventatives. While he is heartworm positive, he’s doing exceptionally well on our slow-kill protocol and is on the path to full recovery. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who’s already come a long way and is ready to live the good life, Bandit might just be your perfect match. ------------------------------------------------ Ground transport assistance may be available within 1K miles depending on where you live and the availability of volunteer drivers along the route. Story
MEET "CASPER" TEXAS, HOUSTON LOCATION: HOUSTON, TEXAS EMAIL: BigPawsK9FosterHouse@gmail.com AVAILABLE FOR: FOSTER, FOSTER TO ADOPT/ADOPTION NAME: "CASPER" DOB: 1/5/25 BREED: GREAT PYRENEES x GOLDEN RETRIEVER GENDER: MALE SIZE: LARGE HEALTH: GOOD Casper may be a Great Pyrenees–Golden Retriever mix, but deep in his soul he is pure Great Pyrenees with all the goofy sweetness of a Golden sprinkled in. This handsome boy is a classic velcro dog—loyal, devoted, and happiest when he’s by your side. He thrives with an owner who understands Pyr behavior and can offer firm but gentle guidance. Casper came to us off the streets with his sister, Goldie. Despite being injured and clawed up, he stood guard over her, protecting her until help arrived. He had puncture wounds and was in rough shape, but this boy has fully healed and blossomed beautifully under our care. He would do wonderfully as an only dog, soaking up all the love and attention, but he also pairs well with a confident female companion. Casper is ready to leave his past behind and step into the life he deserves—with a family who appreciates his loyalty, intelligence, and giant-hearted nature. ---------------------------------------- Veterinary reference is required on all adoptions. Story
Meet Tram – a gentle, people loving boy who also enjoys cuddles, walks and the pool! At just 2 years old and 75 lbs, Tram the Great Pyrenees is the definition of a gentle soul. He may look majestic, but what really makes him shine is his big heart. Tram was found abandoned at a gas station, Tram spent weeks wandering before being rescued. Despite his rough start, he never lost his sweetness. He’s undergone heartworm treatment and will soon be heartworm-free. Tram is ready for his forever family! What we love about Tram: He is a loyal companion who adores people. Tran is calm, easygoing, and very gentle. This guy loves pool time, leisurely walks, and plenty of cuddle breaks. He is content to be the king of his castle, but may do well with a laid-back female dog. Tram isn’t just a dog; he’s a faithful friend who will bring peace, love, and loyalty to your home. If you’re looking for a chill, affectionate best buddy, Tram is your guy. Apply to adopt Tram today at www.htxdogrescue.org
